Important:
If you view your next payslip before pay day, it may not show details of everything that you will be paid.

If you have mulitple employment you will only be able to view past payslips for the role that is marked as primary in SAP. To request payslips for other roles, please submit an HR enquiry form.

Navigate:
You can access this via either the Employee folder in the Portal, or by using ESS Lite.

Press the Payslip tile, the Payslips screen will open.

View payslip:
When the Payslips screen opens, your current or next payslip will automatically be displayed.

If you want to view a different payslip, select the required payslip on the left of the screen and the details will be displayed on the right.

Information:
If you want to preview your next payslip, this will become available each month a few days after payroll has been run.

To view a larger or smaller version of the payslip, select the drop down arrow next to the percentage (top of the screen) and choose one of the options listed.

Print payslip:
If you need a printed copy of a payslip, select the payslip on the left then press the Print icon. A print window will appear where you can choose a printer and make other selections for your printed copy.

Request leave:
Use this form to book all types of leave.

Navigate:
You can access this via either the Employee folder in the Portal, or by using ESS Lite.
Press the My leave tile.
The My Leave Requests screen will open, press the Request Leave tile.
If you have multiple employments, you will be asked which personnel number you want to work with. Please ensure you read the instruction on screen before continuing.

the current and previous months will be displayed in the main part of the screen
at the foot of the screen is a key to the colour coding in the calendar (press the icon in the bottom left if the key is not showing)
the total leave you have used and still have available to book, is displayed on the right of the screen (this is only applicable for leave types that have a set amount of hours allocated for the year, eg annual leave).

Select type of leave:
At the top of the screen, the type of leave that you are booking will be displayed, this will automatically default to Annual Leave – Hours. Select the leave type you require. For more information regarding the different types of leave, see Leave types.

Use the arrows to move forward or back through the months.

Leave request – change month screen:
To select a single day press the date.
To select several days press the first and then the last day.
To select a part day enter the number of hours in the Duration field (leave blank for full days).

If you select the wrong date/s press Cancel at the bottom right of the screen.

Submit leave request:
When you have finished selecting your dates, you can add any further information you want your approver to see regarding the leave, in the Note field on the right.

When all information is completed press Send (bottom right of screen).

You may see an error message at this stage, if you do, take the appropriate action:
Quota exceeded – this means that you have used all of your leave quota, you may need to check your leave quota is correct and if it is and you want to proceed with the booking, you will need to cancel leave you already have booked to release leave.
There is another leave request which overlaps with the specified period – this means that for the date/s you are trying to book, you already have leave booked in. You will need to review the leave you have booked and may need to cancel approved leave if appropriate.
Duration value should belong to the range 0.01 to 24.00 – this is because you have entered hours in the Duration field while trying to book whole days. The Duration field should only be used for part days. Press OK, select your dates and then press Send.

If the information you have entered is okay, the Send Leave Request window will open – check everything is correct and press Send. If you don’t want to continue with the request, press Cancel.

Use the History tile to check whether your leave has been approved or rejected.

  1. My chronology of service is missing some years. I have 39 years and approximately 2 terms of service and not 37 years. The most recent years are missing. How do I get it updated?
