How To Apply For Assessment For College Applications in Canada?

ICAS is an approved provider of credential assessment services for individuals applying to colleges in Ontario. If you are applying to a college in Ontario through ontariocolleges.ca (also known as Ontario College Application Service or OCAS), the college may require an assessment of your international education documents as part of your application for admission.

ICAS can send your completed Assessment Report electronically to ontariocolleges.ca. This eliminates the need for you to send your report to each individual college. Before applying for an Assessment Report, please confirm the type of report the college requires. The type of report required depends on the admission requirements for each individual program.

Note:
Many universities in Canada prepare their own assessments of international education for admission to their programs. An admissions counsellor can tell you whether or not you will require an external assessment.

If you are applying to a college in Ontario through ontariocolleges.ca (also known as Ontario College Application Service or OCAS), ICAS offers specialized Assessment Reports. This can include electronic transmission of your assessment directly to ontariocolleges.ca. Please see our College Applicant section for more information.

Required Documents For Assessment For College Applications in Canada

Please review the specific documentation requirements for the country in which your education was completed. The processing of your application begins when we receive ALL required documents. Incomplete documentation delays the assessment process.

Important Notes:
** With the exception of original documents, all documents submitted for assessment become the property of ICAS and will not be returned.
** Documents issued directly to ICAS by the institution will not be released to the applicant. If you are submitting original documents, we would encourage you to select and pay for courier service so that documents can be returned with your Assessment Report.
** If the name which appears on the documents differs from the name on your application, you must submit a copy of official evidence of change of name.
** If the documents were not originally issued in English or French, ICAS also requires an accurate word-for-word translation of each document. If you provide English-language documents or translations, you will receive an English-language report. If you submit French-language documents or translations, you will receive a French-language report.
** If you did not study on-campus at the institution which awarded your qualification, your documents must clarly indicate the location of study.
