** Select a Test Centre
** Schedule Your Test

Schedule your Driver Theory Test : http://www.theorytest.ie/driver-theory-test/schedule-test/

Theory Test Categories:
Please be advised that it is your responsibility to book the correct Theory Test category as this cannot be changed at the test centre. Test category names are displayed in English and Irish during the scheduling process – if displayed in Irish the test will be delivered in the Irish language.

The Driver Theory Test is designed to examine a Learner Driver’s knowledge of the Rules of the Road. There is a specific Theory Test for each licence category, the Theory Test that you apply for will depend on the licence category(s) in which you wish to obtain a licence.

Identification & Photographic Requirements:
Only valid (in date) and original documents in good condition will be accepted. Irish Passports will be accepted if they are in date, or expired by no more than one year. For example; if your Irish Passport expires on September 30th, 2014, it can still be used as proof of identification until September 30th, 2015.

Please ensure that the spelling of the name in which you book your test matches the spelling of your name on the ID you will present at the test centre. If it does not match, you will not be permitted to sit your test and you will lose your test fee.

Reschedule or Cancel your Driver Theory Test:
Should you wish to reschedule or cancel your Driver Theory Test booking please note that you must do so via the Reschedule/Cancel your Test page no later than 5 business days (to include 3 complete business days) prior to your test date.

Alternatively, please call our Candidate Services Team on 1890 606 106 (Lo-call rate) who are available Monday to Friday from 8AM to 6PM (excluding public holidays).

C (Truck) or D (Bus) €72.00
CD (Bus and Truck) €84.00
Bus Module Test (BMT) €45.00
Truck Module Test (TMT) €45.00

Choosing a Test Category :
Please be advised that it is your responsibility to book the correct Theory Test category as this cannot be changed at the test centre. Test category names are displayed in English and Irish during the scheduling process – if displayed in Irish the test will be delivered in the Irish language.

The Driver Theory Test is designed to examine a Learner Driver’s knowledge of the Rules of the Road. There is a specific Theory Test for each licence category, the Theory Test that you apply for will depend on the licence category(s) in which you wish to obtain a licence.

Bus & Truck Module Theory Tests :
Please Note; only drivers who have passed a Full Category C (Truck) Theory Test or full Category D (Bus) Theory Test on or after the September 30th 2014, are eligible to sit a Bus or Truck Module Theory Test.

These tests can be taken in addition to either the full Bus Theory Test or full Truck Theory Test. For example; when a candidate sits and passes the Bus Driver Theory Test this provides them with a Driver Theory Test Certificate in driving a bus, plus the first part of the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

If within two years of passing the full Bus Driver Theory Test the candidate decides they would like to be able to drive a truck also, they can sit the Truck Module Theory Test, meaning that they do not need to sit the full Truck Driver Theory Test.
