Pre-Requisite Processes:
Farmers have to register online in order to generate User Credentials to access the system.

Eligibility of Farmer Groups Registration

** All the farmers of the nation
** Admissible Gewog and Dzongkhag Officals (For necessary approval)
** Other relevant stakeholders

Fees For Farmer Groups Registration

No fees are incurred as its the support services for farmers

Turn Around Time of Farmer Groups Registration

** Registration completes at the max of 10 working days from the initial submission of the application by the farmers. (reduced from 40 days TAT in the past that involved manual registration)
** Renewal after every 5 years for FGs/Co-ops and 3 years for the Federation.
** Submission of Annual Report is enabled at January 1st and disabled at the end of the month.

Registering farmer groups in Bhutan involves a few steps handled by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF).

Here’s a breakdown of the process:
Preparation:
** Group Formation: Gather interested farmers and establish a group with a voluntary agreement.
** Elect Officials: Choose a chairperson and other necessary representatives for the group.
** Define Goals: Determine the group’s purpose and areas of focus in farming.
** Craft a Plan: Develop a simple business plan outlining the group’s activities.
** Documents: Prepare a list of members with their IDs and signatures.

Registration:
Application Form:
Acquire the FRG Form from the DAMC or relevant local office.

Fill Out the Form:
Provide details like group name, location, objectives, key products, and a summary of your business plan on the FRG Form.

Gewog Cooperative Registrar:
The Gewog Administrative Officer acts as the Gewog Cooperative Registrar for your local area.

Submission:
Submit two copies of the completed FRG Form along with the following documents to the Gewog Cooperative Registrar:
** List of office bearers and members with IDs and signatures.
** Copies of the group’s constitution and bylaws (if established).
** Proof of a bank account in the group’s name (applicable for cooperatives).
