How To Apply For CIDA Material Suppliers Registration?

As the regulatory authority of the construction industry, CIDA has published a Gazette including the criteria to maintain the standards of Importers, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Construction Materials and Components to maintain the standards of Construction Components and Materials as per the Section No 43 of Construction Industry Development Act, No. 33 of 2014.

Accordingly, authority will register the Construction Materials and Component Importers (Importer-IM), Manufacturers (Manufacturer-M) and Suppliers (Supplier-S) under three (3) categories

List of currently identified materials, registration details of the scheme and fees including the application form relating to the registration process can be downloaded in CIDA website http://www.cida.gov.lk. Application forms for registration can also be collected from the Information Centre of CIDA at 123, “Saysiripaya” Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm during working days. Duly filled applications together with relevant information shall be submitted to Director (Development), CIDA, 123, “Saysiripaya” Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07.

When dealing with Importer, Manufactures and Suppliers of Construction Materials and Components of identified construction work, a person is bound to follow the provisions of CID Act and any rules and regulation made thereunder.

Explanatory Notes:
1. If the product is covered by a Sri Lanka Standard or foreign standard, give relevant number of standards. (e.g., SLS …. / EN ….). If the product is not covered by any standard, state so.
2. If product is SLS marked, give certificate number and date or if product comes under the Import inspection scheme, give details.
3. Third party certification relates to systems such as ISO 9000 certification.
4. Give details of the last available audit report.

Additional Simplified Procedure

The process of applying for CIDA Material Suppliers Registration in Sri Lanka can be done online or through physical submission. Here’s a breakdown of both methods:

Online Application:
1. Visit the CIDA website: Go to the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) website at https://www.cida.gov.lk/.
2. Click on “Registration”: On the homepage, click on the “Registration” tab.
3. Select “Material Suppliers”: Under the “Registration” tab, select “Material Suppliers” from the dropdown menu.
4. Download the application form: Click on the “Download Application Form” button. The form will be downloaded in PDF format.

5. Fill out the application form: Carefully fill out the application form with all the required information. Make sure to have the following documents ready to upload:
** Company registration certificate
** Business registration certificate
** Audited financial statements for the past three years
** Tax returns for the past three years
** Bank statements for the past six months
** List of products supplied
** Quality control certificates for products
** Letters of recommendation from clients

6. Upload the application form and supporting documents: Once you have completed the application form and scanned the supporting documents, go back to the CIDA website and click on the “Upload Application Form” button.
7. Pay the registration fee: The registration fee is Rs. 5,000. You can pay the fee online using a credit card or debit card.
8. Submit the application: Once you have paid the fee, click on the “Submit Application” button. Your application will be submitted to CIDA for processing.

Physical Application:
** Download the application form: You can also download the application form from the CIDA website at https://www.cida.gov.lk/.
** Print the application form: Print the application form and fill it out manually.
** Collect the required documents: Gather all the required documents as listed above.
** Submit the application form and documents: Take the completed application form and supporting documents to the CIDA office at “Savsiripaya”, 123, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07, Sri Lanka.
** Pay the registration fee: Pay the registration fee of Rs. 5,000 at the CIDA office.

Processing Time:
The processing time for CIDA Material Suppliers Registration is approximately 4-6 weeks. You will be notified by email or phone once your application has been processed.
