Apply For Biometric Passport :

Steps to follow :
The new biometric passport : modern, reliable, secure passport received

1. Get a secure application form from our banking partner Ecobank and fill in your biographical information. The fee for the application form is 60 Dalasi.

2. Pay for your passport at Ecobank. The price of a new biometric passport is 3000 Dalasi. No further fees must be paid. After the payment, Ecobank will give you a receipt with a unique traceability number.

3. Proceed to the enrolment centre 7 ECOWAS avenue in front of Gambian Police Headquarters, Banjul. Hand over the form, the receipt with the traceability number and your national biometric ID card as well as a copy of those documents.

The other documents (+ copy) you need to bring with you are :
Gambian by birth :
Birth certificate (if not available : certificate signed by Alkalo or Seyfo), and your old passport (for renewals or replacements).

Gambian under 18 :
Birth certificate (if not available : certificate signed by Alkalo or Seyfo) and consent from legal guardian.

Gambian by marriage :
Certificate of citizenship by marriage.

Gambian by naturalization :
Naturalisation or registration document.

The immigration office will record your biometric data :
They take a picture, scan your fingerprints and iris of the eyes, and register an image of your signature.

4. You will receive an appointment date, at which you have to go back to the enrolment centre to collect your passport.

5. Go to the enrolment centre in person and collect your passport.

Embassies with the biometric facilities abroad :
Gambians living in the US, the UK, Belgium and Nigeria will soon be able to order the new biometric passport using an online tool. Information will follow soon on this website.

In the meantime, all Gambians living abroad are to contact their Embassy for information about how to apply for a passport.
