NSW Renew/Restore Vessel Registration

If you have a vessel registration, and you’ve been sent a renewal notice, you can renew the rego on or before the expiry date, online. You’re also able to update your contact details, if applicable.

Vessel registration is available as a digital licence. You can view, show, update, and renew your vessel’s rego on the Service NSW mobile app. To find out more about digital licences, see Get started with digital licences.

What You’ll Need?

** your registration number
** the renewal number on your renewal notice.

How To Renew?

** Select the ‘Renew online’ button.
** Select ‘Next’.
** Enter your registration number and renewal number as shown on your renewal notice. (If you don’t have your renewal number, select ‘Don’t have?’ and enter your name, birth date and postcode.)
** Select ‘Next’.
** Confirm the details of your licence.
** Enter your payment details.
** Read and confirm the declaration.

Things to Keep in Mind

** your renewal notice will tell you when your rego is due
** if the rego has been expired for more than 90 days, or if you don’t want to renew online, you can visit a service centre, call us on 13 77 88, or send a renewal payment through the mail. To make sure that you have all the information and documentation you need to complete this transaction, please visit Roads and Maritime.

Payment Methods

For online or phone transactions, you can pay with :
** credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, or American Express).
For transactions in person at a service centre, you can pay with :
** cash (in Australian currency)
** cheque (personal, bank or agency drawn)
** money order
** credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express* or EFTPOS), or
** Android Pay app.

Please note that you may need to pay a merchant fee when paying by credit or debit card. Unfortunately, some locations may not accept American Express.

Replace Vessel’s Registration Certificate

If you need to replace your vessel’s registration certificate, you can do this in person at a service centre, or post your application.
Documents Required :
** your proof of identity
** your payment
** the PDF form – ‘Application for Maritime Replacement Products’
** the PDF form – ‘Maritime transaction payments’ (if you’re intending to pay by credit card).

Procedure :
** Download and complete the Application for Maritime Replacement Products – PDF.
** Download and complete the Maritime transaction payments – PDF (if applicable).
** Make sure you have the required documentation and payment.
