Turnaround time :
** The standard service delivery time for birth registration is 30 days from the date of submission of application.
Eligibility :
** Any child born in Bhutan and children born to Bhutanese parents outside the country.

How to Apply ?
** An applicant will have to submit the duly completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
** The applicant will have to get consent letter from Head of Household when the child’s census is to be registered with person(s) other than either of the parents.

** Attach relevant documents as specified in documents required.
** Birth should be registered with DCRC within 30 days of delivery of child. In the event of failure to comply with the above timeline, parent(s)/guardian(s) will have to report in person to the DCRC HQ for registration.

i. The applicant will have to produce CID/ SRP card in original when applying the service.
ii. The birth registration certificate can be collected from CC/ DCRCO/ Thromde/ DCRC HQ.

Documents required for Bhutanese citizens/SRP holders :
** Duly completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
** Identification documents of parents.
** Notification of birth (if delivered at hospital/BHU).

** Copy of marriage certificate, otherwise endorsement from the guarantor or Tshogpa&Gup.
** Consent from HoH is mandatory when the child’s census is to be registered with person(s) other than either of the parents.

Documents required for all other marriage cases & non-Bhutanese :
** Duly completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
** Identification documents of parents.
** Notification of birth (if delivered at hospital/BHU).
** Copy of Marriage certificate, otherwise endorsement from the guarantor

Documents required for Bhutanese citizens serving overseas in Bhutanese Embassies/Missions :
** Duly completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
** Identification documents of parents.
** Birth certificate issued by competent authority.

** Copy of Marriage certificate, otherwise statement confirming parentage of the child should be obtained from the Head of Chancery.
** Consent from HoH is mandatory when the child’s census is to be registered with person(s) other than either of the parents.

Documents required for Bhutanese citizens/SRP holders studying/working/residing overseas :
** Duly completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
** Identification documents of parents.
** Birth certificate issued by competent authority.

** Copy of Marriage certificate, otherwise statement confirming parentage of the child should be obtained from the Head of Chancery.
** Consent from HoH is mandatory when the child’s census is to be registered with person(s) other than either of the parents.

Fees : No fee except for the service charge payable at the community center, if the application is submitted at CC.
Note : The CC operator must verify the CID/SRP card of the applicant in original.
