Employment Pass Online page will be opened. This is a One-stop portal to perform enquiry on Application/Pass Status and Work Injury Compensation Insurance Requirement.

1. I am an applicant. However, I do not have an NRIC / FIN / Malaysian New IC No. How do I check the status of my application?
You may wish to approach your employer to assist on the checking.

2. Can I view Application / Pass status for Dependant’s Pass / Long Term Visit Pass / Training Employment Pass / Letter of Consent / EntrePass?
Yes.

3. Where can I find the Application No. ?
The search by Application No. is only applicable for applications submitted via EP Online. The Application No. can be found on the Acknowledgement Page generated after submission of an application via EP Online.

4. I am an Employment Pass (EP) applicant. If I want to retrieve records using Search Option 2, am I able to do so if my child (whom I am applying a Dependant’s Pass (DP) for) has the same Travel Document No. as me?
No, for search Option 2, there cannot be more than 1 FIN tied to the Travel Document No. You should retrieve the records using Search Option 1 or 3. Alternatively, you can email mom_wpd@mom.gov.sg or contact MOM Contact Centre at Tel: 6438 5122.

5. How do I go about employing an existing Employment Pass or S Pass holder?
You will have to submit a new application for the person. There is no need to cancel the existing Employment Pass or S Pass while doing so.

6. Can an employer refuse to cancel an EP or S Pass?
No. Employers are required to cancel the work pass once the employee is no longer working for them. Employers cannot refuse to cancel the pass. Work passes cannot be used as a threat or retaliation for employment or contract disputes, e.g. over notice period.

Both employers and employees should try to resolve contractual disputes amicably or seek legal advice, if necessary.

Benefits of MOM Employment Pass

The Employment Pass (EP) is a work visa that allows foreign professionals, managers, and executives to work in Singapore.

The EP has a number of benefits, including:
** The ability to work in Singapore: The EP allows you to work in Singapore for a period of up to 2 years, which can be renewed for up to 3 years.
** The ability to bring your family to Singapore: If you are an EP holder, you can bring your spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 to Singapore. Your family members will be eligible to work or study in Singapore.
** The ability to travel freely in and out of Singapore: As an EP holder, you are free to travel in and out of Singapore as you please. You do not need a visa to enter or exit Singapore.
** The ability to open a bank account in Singapore: As an EP holder, you can open a bank account in Singapore. This will allow you to manage your finances easily and conveniently.
** The ability to apply for permanent residency in Singapore: After working in Singapore for a certain period of time, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency. Permanent residency gives you the right to live and work in Singapore indefinitely.

Additional Generic Procedure

You can check your Employment Pass (EP) status through the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website. To do this, you will need to enter your FIN (Foreign Identification Number) and date of birth. You can find your FIN on your EP card. The MOM website will display the status of your EP, such as whether it is approved, rejected, or pending. You can also view the expiry date of your EP on the website.

Here are the steps on how to check your MOM Employment Pass (EP) status:
1) Go to the MOM website: https://www.mom.gov.sg/
2) Click on the “Employment Pass” tab.
3) Click on the “Check Employment Pass Status” link.
4) Enter your Employment Pass number in the “Employment Pass Number” field.
5) Enter your date of birth in the “Date of Birth” field.
6) Click on the “Submit” button.
7) You will see the status of your Employment Pass.

Here are some of the possible statuses of your Employment Pass:
1) Active: Your Employment Pass is active and you are allowed to work in Singapore.
2) Cancelled: Your Employment Pass has been cancelled and you are no longer allowed to work in Singapore.
3) Expired: Your Employment Pass has expired and you need to renew it in order to continue working in Singapore.
4) Under Process: Your Employment Pass application is currently being processed by MOM.
5) Pending: Your Employment Pass application has been submitted to MOM but has not yet been processed.
