Information For Applicants Specific To Permit Class R Special Pass

Eligible Person:
This class of Resident Permit shall be issued to a foreigner who secures employment with a validity of not more than ninety (90) days. It shall also be issued to a workers or a self employed persons who have not yet acquired a Resident Permit.

Dependants:
Eligible dependants may accompany the principal applicant. But will have to apply for M2 resident permit.

Where to apply:
** Apply online
** Applications should be submitted at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration Head Quarters or at Immigration District offices.

Travel document:
Any genuine and recognized travel document valid not less than 6 months.

Permit Fees:
50,000 frw

Validity of Permit:
90 Days

Permit Extension:
This permit may be extended upon application.

Change of Status:
The holder of this permit may be allowed to change his/her status.

Working in Rwanda:
Work is permitted

Number of entries:
Multiple entries

Transcription:
For applicant whose permit is in expired or lost passport, will have to pay 10,000Frw for the permit to be transferred in the new passport.

Requirements:
** One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf. The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.
** A completed application form
** An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration.
** Curriculum Vitae
** Employment contract
** Recommendation letter from the employer

Processing time:
3 Days

N.B:
To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew his/her visa before expiration of the current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000frw in a period between 06 to 15 days of delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order No. 02/01 of 21/05/2011 establishing procedures and regulations implementing Immigration and Emigration law, categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.

Dependants of Rwandan :
Information For Applicants Specific To Permit Sub-Class M1 Dependants Of A Rwandan :
Eligible Person :
** This sub class shall be issued to any dependant of a Rwandan national upon request.

Where to apply :
** Applications should be submitted at the Directorate General of immigration and Emigration.

Travel document :
** Any genuine and recognized travel document valid not less than 6 months.

Validity of Permit :
** 3 years

Permit Extension :
** This permit may be extended upon application.

Change of Status :
** Change of status is permitted

Working in Rwanda :
** Work is permitted upon request made through the Director General of Immigration and Emigration.

Number of entries :
** This class of permit allows the bearer Multiple entries in Rwanda.

Certificate of Good conduct :
** Applicants are required to provide a certificate of good conduct from recognized law enforcing authority from the country they have been residents for minimum of last 6 months.
** This certificate has to indicate whether the applicant has not had any criminal convictions.

Transcription :

Renewal of dependant visa :
Requirements for Renewal :
** One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken, without glasses, caps and scurf. The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.

** Permit application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration from the principle applicant.
** Copy of green card issued at the directorate General of Immigration and Emigration
** Copy of the resident permit of the principle applicant.

Processing time : 3 working days
N.B:
