Issuance of Lost/ Damaged Passport :

Description of Service:
This service is limited to Bahraini citizens only.

Required Terms of Service:
** You must attend in person or through your legal representative to implement the service.
** In case a passport is lost, the person should report it to the nearest police station.

Required Documents:
Lost passports:
** Letter from the Criminal Investigation Directorate, department of lost and found.
** Recent front view color photograph size 4×6 with a white background (View the photo attachment guidelines).
** The application form for issuing the Bahraini passport.

Damaged passports:
** A letter of explaining how the passport was damaged.
** Submitting the damaged passport (If possible ) .
** New front view color photograph size 4×6 with a white background (new requirements).

Procedures:
** Go to Nationality, Passport & Residence Affairs, make sure to provide the required documents and follow the submission procedures.
** Fill out the application form and wait for your service number on the screen.
** Go to the concerned employee to submit the required documents and follow up number .
** Pay the fees and receive your receipt.
** A text message will be sent to your mobile phone when the passport is ready to collect.

Fees:
Replacement of lost passport B.D. 50/-
Replacement of damaged passport B.D. 10/-

Photo Attachment Guidelines:
(A) Portrait Quality:
** The portrait must be in color, not black and white.
** The portrait must be on plain white photographic paper
** The portrait must be recent. (At most taken in the last 6 months)
** The facial features must be clear and in focus to show natural skin color.
** The portrait must be without any creases or ink marks or tears.
** The portrait must show the applicant facing forward looking directly at the camera with a neutral expression.
** The portrait should be on high quality paper with high resolution.

(B)Style and Lighting:
** The portrait must show the applicant eyes open and clearly visible and free from any reflection or glare from glasses
** The applicants portrait must not obstructed by hair or sunglasses.
** The head should be upright and clear of any shadows.
** The portrait must be taken against a plane white background.
** There shall be no red eye.
** The portrait should be free from airbrushing or similar enhancement (it must not be altered by computer software).

(C) Glasses:
** The portrait shall show the eyes clearly with no light reflection off the glasses. If possible, avoid heavy frames. The frames shall not cover any part of the eyes.
** No portraits with tinted (colored) lenses that hide original eye color would be accepted.

(D)Head Coverings:
** The use of the Veil and Ghutra is allowed only if it does not obscure the normal appearance and facial fractures of the applicant.

(E)Child portrait:
** Children must be on their own in the picture.
** If the child is under 5 they don’t have to looking directly at the camera.
** If the child is under 1, their eyes don’t have to be open. If their head is supported by a hand, the hand must not be visible in the photo.

(F) Portrait Size:
The portrait size must be 4 x 6.
