How To Request Certificate of Good Standing In Ireland?

Follow the below procedure for Certificate of Good Standing/ Current Professional Status Request.

Related / Similar Facility : Medical Council Ireland Complaint Registration

Medical practitioners registered in the Specialist, Trainee Specialist, or General Divisions of the Register can now apply for a certificate of current professional status online. A fee of €52 applies when requesting a Certificate of Current Professional Status along with an additional €15 for each additional certificate.

Note: Certificate of Current Professional Status replaces the former Certificate of Good Standing

Limited Postal applications:
A postal application may be made if the applicant is:
** Voluntarily withdrawn from the Register
** Removed from the Register for non-payment of fee
** Registered in the Supervised Division
** Registered in the Visiting EEA Division

Please note that these forms are accepted by post only and will not be accepted scanned and sent by e-mail.

Additional Information:
We do not issue Current Professional Status certificates by courier, and any such requests should be arranged and paid for directly by the Doctor.

How To Get Duplicate Annual Registration Certificates?

Duplicate Annual Registration Certificates
The Annual Retention Certificate is the electronic pdf certificate issued each year for the annual twelve month retention period, June – May. It is issued in electronic format only. You can request a copy online. There is no charge for this service.

How To Replace Decorative Registration Certificate?

Replacement Decorative Registration Certificate:
This certificate is the paper certificate issued for display purpose in your place of practice. It constitutes proof that you are a medical practitioner. However, it does not constitute proof that you are currently registered.

If you wish to request a replacement decorative certificate, please complete the Decorative Certificate Request Form and return to the Medical Council, Kingram House, Kingram Place, Dublin 2

There is a charge of €10 for this service.

Additional Qualifications :
There are additional qualification currently recognised by the Medical Council, a list of which may be accessed at the link below;

If you wish to register a qualification from the above list, the following is required:
** A Copy of the Qualification (must be attested/notarised)
** A completed Additional Qualification Request Form.pdf
** A Fee of €105 per qualification

Please note, if your qualification is not on the attached list, it will not be recognised and the fee will be refunded.

Graduate of Medical Schools in Ireland:
This document is required by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and certifies that the medical practitioner is a graduate of an approved Medical School in Ireland.
