Then, we calculate and make bills during the next 5 days. We put our customers water and sewerage bills together (See Okinawa City website English page about sewerage information.) We mail the bill on the 1st of the following month and customers pay the bills by the 22nd.

Example:
1. Read your water meter on April 10th.
2. Calculate April water bill; usage from March 10th to April 10th.
3. Send April water bill on May 1st.
4. Pay April water bill by May 22nd.

There are two ways to pay water bills.

1. Automatic bill payment by bank account:
Customers can pay water bills by bank accounts. It is very easy and convenient once your application is accepted. Bills will be paid automatically by your bank account every month. Every 8th of the month is the day of withdrawal. In case the money can’t be withdrawn on the 8th, the 22nd is the next chance. We don’t send paper bills to those who use automatic bill payment, so please check how much you are going to owe on the Notice for Water Meter Inspection. If a customer would like to start the automatic bill payment, please come over to our office or a local bank with one of your bills or receipts, bank account notebook, and inkan (personal seal) used for the bank.

2. Take water bills to local banks or convenience stores near by:
The City Waterworks Bureau sends water bills to customers on 1st of the month, so customers get the bill around the 3rd or 4th. Customers take bills to local banks or convenience stores near by and pay them by 22nd. In case customers can’t pay by 22nd, they can come over to our office.

FAQ:
What shall I do when I move in? (turn on water):
Please let us know at least one day before you will move in or one day before you start to use water. In case you would like to move in during weekend, please call us by Friday morning because our office is closed on weekend.

What shall I do when I move out? (turn off water):

In case you’re still living on Okinawa, you can pay the final bill at convenience stores near by or by automatic payment, as usual.
