Simple New Connection:

New connection Application more Info for all new sites/building or projects that is completed, “a new connection application form” is required to be filled by customer/applicant

The requirement for the New Connection Application:
** Copy of a valid Identify Card/ commercial registration for cooperate customer
** Copy of a valid electrician license
** No objection letter from Muscat Municipality for Connection
** Copy of Electrical Drawing on A4 paper (if more than 1 meter)

The Procedure for the new connection application:
** Head to any customer service offices that are available in different locations throughout the governorate of Muscat.
** After having received the required document, the company will visit the connected site/building to ensure the safety of the internal connections and propose the best possible way to connect it to the main distribution lines.
** An account opened for the customer for billing and referral reason after receiving the payment for the connection charges.
** The customer is given a list of authorized companies from which one is chosen and contracted to install the meter (that have been tested initially by the company) and connect the building to the main distribution lines.
** The company will finally check and insure all connections for security and safety reason.

Initial Connection Application:
The initial connection application is the request that submitted by the customers/applicants prior to erection of the site/building construction and after obtaining the NOC from the Muscat Municipality to avoid the delay of upgrading the network if required.

The requirement for the Initial Connection Application:
** Copy of Identify Card/commercial registration for cooperate customer
** Copy of Molkiya and Krooki
** Single line diagram for applications more than 200 kwh
** NOC from Muscat Municipality/ Building permit
** Above that the cost will be Private job
** For load from ( 0- 2500kwh ) Muscat Electricity Company will offer service.

The Procedure for the Initial connection application:
** Head to any customer service offices that are available in different locations throughout the governorate of Muscat.
** After having received the required document, the company will visit the site to ensure the availability of the nearest network distribution lines.
** The company will upgrade the network if required.

Bulk Connection:
For Bulk load requirement, customers has to contact MEDC planning department. Any electricity requirements above 5 MW is considered as Bulk load.

The requirement for the New Connection Application :
** Copy of Molkiya and Krooki
** Drawings (Single line Diagram)
** Connected load details

The Procedure for the new connection application:
** Submit the applicaton to Planning Departement at MEDC head office.
** After having received the required document, the company will visit the connected site/building to ensure the safety of the internal connections and propose the best possible way for the connection.
** The customer recives the proposal and directed to the specified Zone office for drawing approval.
