SgIS Mid-Term Overseas

SgIS Mid-Term Overseas is tenable for young Singapore Citizens who are currently pursuing their full-time undergraduate studies overseas.

Eligibility Criteria :
** Singapore Citizens
** Good undergraduate results across all disciplines (excluding Dentistry, Medicine and other healthcare-related disciplines) from an overseas universities
** Have completed at least 1 academic semester and have not embarked on final year of study at point of application
** Good co-curricular activities (CCA) record and leadership achievements
** Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors

Value of Award & Bond Period :
A one-time grant as partial coverage for university related expenses. Grant amount will depend on the academic years remaining at point of application.

Applicants with more than 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application:
Duration of Bond: 3 years
Grant Amount: SGD 60,000

Applicants with 1 to 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application:
Duration of Bond: 2 Years
Grant Amount: SGD 40,000

Application :
Application for SgIS Mid-Term 2015 will be from 1 January to 15 April 2015.

Applicants will be re-directed to the Brightsparks Scholarship Portal and have to register and create an account with Brightsparks to access the SgIS application form.

Note:
Only shortlisted applicants will be informed and invited for interviews with the sponsoring organisations.

Mid-Term Local :
** Young Singapore citizens who are currently pursuing their full-time undergraduate studies in a local university are eligible for the SgIS Mid-Term Local.

Eligibility Criteria :
** Singapore Citizen

Good undergraduate results across all disciplines (excluding Dentistry / Medicine and other healthcare-related disciplines) from the following institutions :
** Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

** National University of Singapore (NUS)
** Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
** Singapore Management University (SMU)
** Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
** Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

** Have completed at least 1 academic semester and have not embarked on final year of study at point of application
** Good co-curricular activities record and leadership achievements
** Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors

Value of Award & Bond Period :
** 1 to 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$30,000 grant and a 2-year bond with the sponsoring organisation
** More than 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$50,000 grant and a 3-year bond with the sponsoring organisation

How is the application cycle like for Mid-Term SgIS?
Applicants are to submit their online application form via the BrightSparks Scholarship Portal during the application period. Based on the applicants’ choices, their applications will be surfaced to the sponsoring organisations accordingly for further selection interviews.
Only successful applicants will be notified on the award of the scholarship.

** Depending on the suitability of candidates and manpower needs of the sponsoring organisations, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for selection interviews.

When will I know if I have been shortlisted? When will the selection process take place?
The selection process will begin as soon as your application is submitted and may extend till July 2017.
