Biometric Passport:

A passport is issued to a citizen of Georgia of any age for leaving Georgia, traveling abroad and entrance to Georgia.

A biometric passport is a document that is added electronic memory card as distinguished from an ordinary passport; personal data, an electronic photo and fingerprints of an owner are also included in it.

A Biometric Passport for a Minor Under 14 Years of Age:
Apply to Public Service Hall to receive a passport (biometric) of a minor under age 14.

In order to take a passport, you are in need of:
** Birth certificate of a minor;
** Consent of both parents on taking passport (form of consent is to be filled out in Public Service Hall or notary office);
** Receipt confirming payment of fee;
** Two color bio-photos;
** Receipt and bio-photos may be taken in Public Service Hall.

Replacement of a passport is required under occurrence of one of the following circumstances:
** Change of name or surname;
** Determination of inaccuracies in the records;
** Usage of the pages intended for visas;
** Worthlessness for use (wear-out, damage);
** After expiry of validity.

What period is to be defined to issue a biometric passport for a minor under age 14?:
A Passport (biometric) for a minor under age 14 is to be issued for 3-year period.

If any privileges are taken into account while taking a passport for a minor citizen under age 14?:
While taking a biometric passport, the privilege of 50 Gel is taken into account for minors under age 18.

How can I receive a passport for a minor citizen of Georgia for under age 14 if I am abroad? :
In case you are abroad, there are 3 ways for receiving passport for a minor citizen unde age 14

1. Issaunce of a passport may be carried out through online-service. You are given the opportunity to make an application on receipt of a passport on the web-page of Public Service Hall; www.house.gov.ge.
** A passport is given to your trustee or sent to you by mail;
** A passport is prepared within 2 working days;
** Fee to receive a passport amounts to 205 Gel.

2. Your authorized person is able to arrive at Public Service Hall, submit the notarized power of attorney on receipt of passport, fill out the form of application in place and receive a passport of minor under age 14.
