Older Persons Pass :

Bus:
Older people who are eligible for an English National Concessionary Travel Pass – can travel free on the bus anywhere in England during ‘off-peak’ times.

Off-Peak times:
Between 9.30 am and 11.00 pm Monday to Friday.
All day at weekends and on Bank Holidays.

Centro issued passes:
In the West Midlands – free travel on the bus, train and Metro.
Valid from 9.30 am until the end of daytime service Monday to Friday.
Valid anytime at weekends and on Bank Holidays.

If you need to travel before 9.30 am Monday to Friday you can either pay the fare or you can buy a season ticket.

Train:
Centro passes are valid on trains in the blue zone at applicable times on standard class.

Metro:
Centro passes are valid on the Metro at applicable times.

Apply for a Pass:
Step One: Download the application form below or call 0345 303 6760 and we will post a form to you.

Step Two: You will need to provide a document to prove your date of birth and a document to prove your address – if you are posting the application to us – make sure these are copies and not originals.

Proof of date of birth:
One of the following: passport, medical card, driving licence, birth certificate.
For female applicants who have a different surname to their birth certificate – a marriage certificate.

Proof of address:
A driving licence or one of the following: council tax bill, utility bill, bank statement, NHS letter, DWP letter, prescription – all must be no more than six months old.

Step Three: Take the completed form to one of the check and send outlets to process your application or post to:
Centro Ticketing Team, PO Box 9421, Birmingham B19 3TR

Eligibility:
To qualify for a pass issued by Centro you must live permanently in one of the seven Districts of the West Midlands below:
** Birmingham
** Coventry
** Dudley
** Sandwell
** Solihull
** Walsall
** Wolverhampton

If you do not live in one of the seven Districts above please contact your Local Authority for details of how to apply in your area.

Check the date you will be eligible for a pass.

If you were born after 5 April 1950 – the age you become eligible is tied to changes in the State Pension age for women. This affects men and women.

If you were born before 6 April 1950:
You’re eligible for an older person’s bus pass from your 60th birthday.

Women born after 5 April 1950:
Woman born after 5 April 1950 are eligible when they reach pensionable age.

Men born after 5 April 1950:
Men born after 5 April 1950 are eligible when they reach the pensionable age of a woman born on the same day.

Lost Pass Replacements:
Call our customer service team to arrange a replacement Tel: 0345 303 6760

A fee of £7.50 will be charged to replace your concessionary travel pass. Payment can be made over the phone using a credit or debit card.

If you do not have a debit or credit card, you can order a replacement pass at our Birmingham New Street Travel Information Centre or our Wolverhampton Travel Centre at Wolverhampton Bus Station.

If your pass has been stolen and you have a crime reference number you will not need to pay the administration fee to replace it.

You can also arrange a replacement by downloading the form below and make cheques and postal orders payable to ‘Centro’.

Once ordered by any of the above methods, passes will be dispatched First Class to arrive within 2-3 working days.

  1. How can I renew my Centro Travel Card?

    1. Information available from the Official Website :
      Go to the following link “concessioncard.net/renew/” to renew your pass.

      You can renew your pass up to 12 weeks before it expires. The quickest and easiest way is to renew online. If your pass has already expired, you may still be able to renew it online.

      Moved address since your last travel pass was sent to you? Please tell us 3 working days before you renew so we can update our records.

      If you have been unable to renew online, please call 0345 303 6760 to renew over the phone.
