Formal Employment:
The requirements for opening an Edgars account if you are formally employed are:
** Your original current payslip (and a photo copy of the same should you wish to retain the original)
** Your original National ID, Passport or Drivers license ( and a photo copy of the same)

** Proof of residence in the form of either a water bill or electricity bill (and a photo copy of the same should you wish to retain the original)

Self-Employed:
If you are not formally employed and you are running your own business (self employed) you can bring your proof of income in the form of a recent three months bank statement in your name or the company’s name. You should also bring your CR14 ( Company’s Act) for us to be able to verify your company details .

Diaspora paid outs:
We can also open an account for customers receiving money from the Diaspora. All they need to bring are three months recent Diasporan receipts as proof of income.

Please note that our credit terms are:
6 Months to Pay revolving account (you can buy any time as long as you have buying power on your account and your monthly payments are up to date)
** No interest
** Zero deposit if you are formally employed
** 25% deposit if you not formally employed.

12 Months to Pay:
** Up to 75% more credit
** 2% interest per month
** Access to the Edgars Hospital Cash Plan
** No service costs or admin fees, and exclusive to Club Members

Credit Account FAQ :
How do I open an Edgars Credit account?
Simply visit any Edgars store with :
** Your National ID,
** Proof of residence in the form of either a water bill or electricity bill (and a photo copy of the same should you wish to retain the original. You can also bring a letter from the Landlord acknowledging that you lease his/her property together with the landlord’s proof of residence.

** You will be required to complete a Credit application form which you can also download and fill in beforehand and bring it with you and the above documentation to complete your application.

How long does it take to process My Edgars Credit application?
If all your documents are in order, your application will normally be processed between 48 hours and 5 working days.

Am I restricted on which stores I can buy using my Edgars account?
No, you can purchase in any Edgars store across Zimbabwe using your Edgars account.

Can I use my Edgars account to transact in a Jet store?
No, you can only purchase in Edgars stores. You are required to open a separate Jet account should you wish to purchase on credit at Jet.

What if I want to open an Edgars Credit account but I don’t have a payslip?
** You can open an account Without a payslip. All you need is to bring the documents listed in Qstn 1 above, minus the payslip but also include a recent 3 month’s bank statement.
