Submit a Refund Request:

1.Click on eServices on the left hand side menu of STARS homepage.
2.Select Refund.

You can submit your tax return online via STARS or by paper-form.

3.Refund status records will be available for viewing.
4.Click on New Refund Request button.
5.Complete all refund request details.
6.Note that Payment Reference Number refers to the Return ID which is generated after submission of a tax return.
7.Click Submit button. The refund request will be sent to Revenue Division for action.

View Refund Status:

1.Click on eServices on the left hand side menu of STARS homepage.
2.Select Refund.
3.Refund status records will be available for viewing.
4.Click on View. A pop-up will display full Payment details.
5.Click on ‘x’ on top right corner to close the pop-up box.

Know About Submission of Returns:

Where can I get the forms?:
If you are submitting your returns using the traditional paper-forms, you may download the forms from the MOF Website: http://www.mof.gov.bn
If you are submitting your returns via eFiling, the form will be made available to you once you have selected the form type you wish to submit. For more information on how to file, please refer to STARS Guide on the various return types.

How do I submit Income Tax returns for year of assessment 2011 and preceding years?:
Returns will need to be submitted at Revenue Division counters for assessment years 2011 and any preceding years.

When is Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) due for submission?:
Estimated Chargeable Income is due within 3 months after the end of the accounting period relating to that year of assessment.

What is considered an invalid return in STARS?:
An invalid return in STARS means a return without payments.

What is considered as a deficient return?:
A deficient return means a return without audited accounts.

What is considered as an incomplete return?:
A return without payment and audited accounts is considered as an incomplete return.

What if my client has not registered with STARS?
If a client has not registered with STARS, he/she will not be able to create a relationship with his/her Tax Agent in STARS.

Is there an expiry date for my relationship with a client company?
Yes, for Tax Agents, the default expiry date of their relationship is on 30th September.

Will there be an alert to remind me that my relationship with my client is going to expire?
No, there are no alerts; however, you will be able to take note that the expiry date for tax agents will be 30th September of the year the relationship was created. You will then need to inform the client company to create a new relationship with you.

What should I do if my relationship with my client has expired?
You will need to contact your client and inform him/her that the relationship has expired and that he/she needs to create a new relationship for you.
