Business Name Registration Number Search Allows you to search for Business using the Business Registration Numbers

With this option, you can only match by the entire registration no without wild cards

Registering a Business Name

** Fill the form of Statement of Particulars required to be given pursuant to the Business Name Registration in case of a firm.
** Hand in the form for a name to check as to the availability of the name.

** The form should indicate the name of the person signing the form against the signature in case of corporate entities being the partners.
** The signature of the endorsee, title and the seal of the corporate entity must be indicated in case of corporate entities being the partners.
** Pay the registration fee and hand in the form at the Business Registry for registration

How to Register a Partnership:
** Register a Business Name
** Register a Partnership Deed under the Documents Act Cap 81

Conversion of a Business Name into a company:
** File a Notice of Cessation of the Business Name
** Return the original certificate of registration for cancellation
** Go through the procedure for new company registration.

Additional Simplified Procedure

To search for a business name online in Uganda, you can use the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB)’s online business name search tool.

To do this, follow these steps:
1. Go to the URSB website: https://brs.ursb.go.ug/brs/pro/bnr/searchname
2. Enter the business name you want to search for in the “Business/Entity name” field.
3. Select the “Exact” option from the “Criteria” dropdown menu.
4. Click on the “Search” button.

The results of the search will be displayed on the screen. This will include the business name, registration date, status, and business type.

You can also use the following filters to narrow down your search results:
** Registration date
** Status
** Business type

Note:
If you are not sure of the exact business name, you can use the wildcard character “*” to search for a partial match. For example, if you are looking for a business named “ABC Store”, you can enter “ABC*” in the “Business/Entity name” field.

You can also search for a business name by its registration number. To do this, enter the registration number in the “Business/Entity name” field and select the “Exact” option from the “Criteria” dropdown menu.
