The LBR is a semi-autonomous government agency, which operates as a one-stop-shop to formalize or register all enterprises and provide information services to the public. This means that anyone wishing to register a business will have only one interface with the government of Liberia. It takes approximately 48 hours to register those registering and doing business in Liberia.

For your convenience, the procedure for registering a business in Liberia is highlighted below.

Procedure:
Reserve a Unique Company Name:
Search the name online or at the Liberia Business Registry (LBR) office. The reservation of the name lasts for 120 days. If the registration process is not completed thereafter, you may forfeit the use of the name.

Register at the Liberia Business Registry:
Submit the company registration application to the Liberia Business Registry (LBR) office; copies of the application are available online at www.lbr.gov.lr

As an example of requirements, the consolidated application for a limited liability company must be submitted with the following:
** Main consolidated registration form (RF-001)
** Articles of Incorporation (Must be Probated for a Fee)
** Copy of ID Documents

LBR officers review the application and request the Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Bank Payment Slip (BPS) from the Ministry of Finance on behalf of entrepreneurs.

Procedure:
Pay fee and obtain proof of payment:
Proceed to the bank window located at the LBR Office in order to pay the associated registration fees. Upon payment of the fee, the Bank officer issues a flag receipt of the Government of Liberia as proof of payment. This receipt has to be returned to the initial officer who accepted the application.

Procedure:
Receive the Business Registration Certificate Return to the LBR Office to submit the proof of payment. The officer then journalizes the dossier, and issues a receipt slip thereby approving the dossier for processing. Application status can be checked online. Once approved, a business registration certificate will be issued.
