How To Register a Boat as a Fishing Vessel & Pleasure Craft in Brunei?

This service is provided by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) for a vessel/craft owner who wants to register his boat as a fishing vessel and pleasure craft.

General Prerequisite/ Criteria

A driver with a Class 9 (Restricted).

How To Use The Service?

For Private Use:
** A driver with a Class 9 (Restricted)
** A copy of your Smart Identity Card and the driver’s
** Two copies of your passport size photo in colour
** Purchase receipt of Boat and Engines
** Registration fee B$20.00 for one boat.

For Company Use:
** A driver with a Class 9 (Restricted)
** A copy of Smart Identity Card of the driver
** Purchase receipt of Boat and Engines
** Registration fee B$20.00 for one boat.
** The company’s Certificate of Registration
** Form 555 from Labor Department if the driver is a foreigner
** A copy of the driver’s passport if he is a foreigner.
** Insurance if needed

Fill in and return the form along with the required documents to:

Muara BT1728,Brunei Darussalam.

Note:
Please make sure that you meet the vessel guidelines as your vessel will be examined. Your application should take up to 4 working days to be processed. You will be contacted by letter and/or phone on your application status.

About MPABD:
MPABD Act stipulates that the functions of MPABD include licensing and regulatory functions in respect of merchant shipping and particularly in respect of safety at sea, the manning of vessels and the prevention of pollution at sea within ports areas and territorial waters of Brunei Darussalam. MPABD also functions to promote efficiency and the development of the port as wellto regulate and control navigation within the limit of the port and approaches to the port.

To ensure the orderly operations and development of the maritime sector and industries, MPABD will also exercise licensing and regulatory functions in respect of marine and port services and facilities.
