How To Apply For Trade Licences in Botswana?

Apply For New Trade Licence/Business Registration Certificate. The Trade Act, 2019 commenced on 1st June 2020, and only ten(10) business activities will be licnesed while ther remaining thirty-five (35) business activities which do not have immediete health and safety concerns will be issued with registration certificate.

Requirements to obtain a new Trade License is as follows:
** Non-refundable application fee of P200.
** A complete application form.
** Proof of company incorporation or business registration from CIPA.
** Proof of latest annual returns (where applicable).
** Proof of availability of business premises (letter of intention to lease/lease agreement or Title Deed).
** Certified copies of valid Omang (identity card) for citizens, and passport for non-citizens.
** Satisfactory zoning report from Council Physical Planning Department.
** Satisfactory Environmental Health Inspection Report from Council Environmental Health Department.
** Payment of appropriate licence fee upon approval.
** Clearance letter from relevant authorities/entities (where applicable).

** All Licences and Registration Certificates are valid for an indenite period. Only 25% of the licence/Registration fee is required every year as Annual Licence/Registration Fee.

How To Apply For Existing Trade Licence?

** This form is to capture your existing Trade Licence/Business Registration Certificate details into the system which will then allow you to submit applications for other services (E.g.: Annual Fee payment etc.).
** The following documents must be submitted, Copy of the Trade Licence/Business Registration Certificate.
** All Licences are valid for an indefinite period.
** Only 25% of the licence fee is required every year as Annual Licence Fee.
