How To Apply For New Liquor Licence in Botswana?
If you already have a Liquor Licence and only need your Licence details to be captured in the system to allow you to avail other services, please use the ‘Apply for Existing Liquor Licence ‘ application form. Once the application is processed, you can apply for other services.

Instructions:
** There is P100.00 non-refundable application fee for all other licences and P50.00 non-refundable application fee for liquor depot licence.
** The proposed business premises for bar, liquor depot, discotheque/night club and temporary liquor should be at least 500 metres away from a church, school, highway or major road.
** Bottle Stores, Wholesale and Distributor liquor licences have been exempted from the distance requirement of 500 metres from main road, school and church.
** A distributor liquor licensee or a wholesale liquor licensee shall sell liquor to a liquor licensee only.
** Licences are renewed annually.
Requirements of New Liquor Licence Application
Requirements to obtain new Liquor Licence.
The following documents must be submitted:
** A completed application form and application fee of P100.00.
** Copy of Certificate of Incorporation for a company or registration certificate in case of individuals or partnership applicant.
** Certified copies of latest company annual returns form from Companies Intellectual Property Authority.
** Proof of availability of business premises (written undertaking lease in lieu of agreement or title deed).
** Proof of advertisement in Botswana Government Gazette, Daily News or any private newspaper.
** Certified copies of valid Omang/National Identity card for citizens and passport for non-citizens directors and shareholders.
How To Apply For Existing Liquor Licence in Botswana?
This form is to capture your existing License details into the system which will then allow you to submit applications for other services.
The following documents must be submitted:
** Copy of the Liquor Licence.
** Bottle Stores, Wholesale and Distributor liquor licences have been exempted from the distance requirement of 500 metres from main road, school and church.
** A distributor liquor licensee or a wholesale liquor licensee shall sell liquor to a liquor licensee only.
** Licences are renewed annually.
Note:
Intoxicating liquor should not be served/sold to minors under the age of 18 years.
How To Apply For Duplicate Liquor Licence in Botswana?
You need to have an existing License/certificate that was processed through the system to avail this service. If your License/certificate is not present in the system, please use the ‘Apply for Existing Liquor License’ application form for capturing your existing License details into the system which will then allow you to submit applications for other services.
