Step 1: Gather required documents
For the submission of the replacement of your Certificate, you’ll generally need:
** Original Belizean Nationality Certificate or
** Police report if lost or stolen
** Other supporting document. See Replacement of certificate for details.
** must provide original and copies of these documents to complete your application

You will need to bring the required documents when you submit your application.

Step 2: Submission of application
Submission can be made in person or by an authorized party. Applications for Certificate replacement may be submitted at any Immigration Office in Belize or at any Belizean diplomatic or consular mission.

Step 3: Informed of completion of certificate
Your application will be processed by the Nationality Department in accordance to the Belizean Nationality Act. You will thereafter be contacted on the outcome of your application.

Documents Required For Citizenship Certificate Replacement

Replacement of Lost Certificate:
** Police Report
** Copy of certificate or certificate number (If available)
** Declaration requesting replacement, also stating how original certificate was lost
** Copy of passport biographic page or official form of identification
** Copy of birth certificate & translation is required for certificates that do not include date of birth and/or dependent on records present on file
** 3 photographs (must be 2×2, white background, no sleeveless, taken within the last six months, full face view directly facing the camera)

Replacement of Outdated, Mutilated Certificate:
** Original Belize Nationality Certificate
** Declaration requesting replacement of certificate and reasons why
** Copy of passport biographic page or official form of identification
** Copy of birth certificate & translation is required for certificates that do not include date of birth and/or dependent on records on file
** 3 photographs (must be 2×2, white background, no sleeveless, taken within the last six months, full face view directly facing the camera)

Transfer from Parent’s Nationality Certificate:
** Declaration requesting the issuance of a separate certificate
** Copy of parent’s Nationality Certificate, showing name to be transferred to new certificate
** Copy of passport biographic page or official form of identification
** Copy of birth certificate and translation is required for certificates that do not include date of birth and/or dependent on records on file
** 3 photographs (must be 2×2, white background, no sleeveless, taken within the last six months, full face view directly facing the camera)
** Renunciation for persons born in Guatemala or India
