Steps to Follow :
Full set of fingerprints required :
** To conduct a criminal record check we require a full set of fingerprints, including both rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers.
** Complete all fields on the fingerprint form.
** Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicant unprocessed.

If you are IN CANADA :
** you must have your fingerprints taken on form C-216C at your local police station or private accredited fingerprinting agency.
** Depending on the police jurisdiction, a fee may be required.

Electronic Civil Fingerprinting :
Electronic processing significantly reduces processing times when there is no match to an RCMP fingerprint holding. Find an authorized police service

If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :
contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services.

The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following :
** rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
** full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
** the name and address of the police agency
** the signature of the official taking the fingerprints

Electronic fingerprint submissions to the RCMP is not currently available outside of Canada. You may contact third party agencies within Canada who will digitize ink fingerprints and submit them electronically to the RCMP. You may search International Fingerprinting Services on the internet. Electronic processing significantly reduces processing times when there is no match to an RCMP fingerprint holding.

Additional Simplified Procedure

There are two ways to check your RCMP criminal record in Canada:

1. Name-based criminal record check:
This can be done online through a third-party service provider, such as Sterling Backcheck or Verified Credentials. To do this, you will need to provide your name, date of birth, and address. The service provider will then search the RCMP’s Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database for any criminal records associated with your name.

2. Fingerprint-based criminal record check:
This type of check is required for certain jobs and volunteer positions, such as those involving working with children or vulnerable adults. To get a fingerprint-based criminal record check, you will need to visit a local police station or accredited fingerprinting company. You will need to provide your fingerprints and a fee. The police or fingerprinting company will then submit your fingerprints to the RCMP for processing.

Once the RCMP has processed your request, you will receive a copy of your criminal record check. The check will list any criminal charges or convictions that you have. If you have no criminal record, the check will state that you have a clear criminal record

How to check your RCMP criminal record in Canada from India?
If you are currently living in India, you can still get an RCMP criminal record check. To do this, you will need to contact an accredited fingerprinting company in India. The company will be able to take your fingerprints and submit them to the RCMP on your behalf. You will need to pay a fee for this service. Once the RCMP has processed your request, you will receive a copy of your criminal record check by mail.

Please Note:
There are currently delays in processing RCMP criminal record checks. It may take several weeks or even months to receive your check.
