Higher Education Students’ Loans Board

Higher Education Students’ Loans Board was established by Act No. 9 of 2004, inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology on the 30th March 2005 and became operational in July 2005.

The objective of the Board is to assist, on a loan basis, needy students who secure admission in accredited higher learning institutions, but who have no economic power to pay for the costs of their education.

The Board is also entrusted with the task of collecting due loans from previous loan beneficiaries in order to have a revolving fund in place so as to make the Board sustainable.

Additional Simplified Procedure

To view your loan allocation result in Tanzania, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to the HESLB website (https://olas.heslb.go.tz/index.php/olas/Olas).
2. Click on the “Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA)” tab.
3. Enter your Form Four index number and the security code.
4. Click on the “Login” button.
5. Once you have logged in, you will be able to see your loan allocation result.

If you are not sure how to find your Form Four index number, you can contact your school or the HESLB office.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when viewing your loan allocation result in Tanzania:
** You can view your loan allocation result 2 weeks after the closing date for loan applications.
** You will need to enter your Form Four index number and the security code to view your loan allocation result.
** If you have forgotten your Form Four index number or the security code, you can contact the HESLB office for assistance.

You can also view your loan allocation result by SMS. To do this, send an SMS to 15677 with the following message:
HESLB <space> Your Form Four index number
For example, if your Form Four index number is S0143.0078.1990, you would send the following SMS:
HESLB S0143.0078.1990
You will receive an SMS with your loan allocation result.
