Renewing Your Licence:

Your real estate licence will expire 12 months after it has been issued. If you want to continue to work as a real estate licensee you will need to apply to renew it.

If we do not receive your renewal application and payment before your licence expiry date then your licence will expire. That means you will no longer be able to carry out real estate agency work and you will need to reapply for your licence.

It costs $793.50 to renew your licence.

How to renew your licence:
Download and complete a renewal form :
Download and complete the relevant renewal form and send it to us

All licensees must satisfy the continuing education requirements in order to renew their licence.

Pay your annual operational and disciplinary levies :
The total amount you will need to pay, including GST, is $793.50. Full details are included in the application forms.

Return the form and payment :
You can post, fax or email your renewal application to us and payment can be made by cheque, credit card or internet banking

Full details on postage and payment methods are included in the renewal application forms:
** If paying by cheque please include the cheque with your renewal form.
** If paying by internet banking please enter your licence number and surname as the reference when paying and send a copy of the payment confirmation with your application

We will email you when we’ve processed your application :
Processing times are up to 10 days for applications which are faxed or emailed to us and up to 15 days for applications that have been posted.

Please retain copies of your application :
** If you fax your application please keep the original application and fax confirmation slip
** If you email your application please keep the original application and email
** If you post your application please take and retain a photocopy of your application and any payment cheque.

We will remind you that your licence is about to expire:
We will send you a renewal notification four to six weeks before your licence expires – by email and text. However, if we do not have up-to-date contact details for you we will not be able to send you this notification.

You can also check the date it will expire on our public register or on your evidence of licence.

We suggest you put this important date in your diary as it is your responsibility to renew your licence.

If you do not renew your licence you will not be able to do real estate work:
If we do not receive your renewal application and payment before your licence expiry date then your licence will expire. That means you will no longer be able to carry out real estate agency work and you will need to reapply for your licence.

If you do not want to renew your licence:
If you do not want to renew your licence you can simply let it expire. You can also suspend or surrender your licence before the expiry date.
