How do I get a medical certificate through Tend?
To get a medical certificate.
1. You’ll need to first book an online appointment with a Tend doctor.
2. We’ll ask you some questions about your current state of health and get an understanding of what’s required on your medical certificate.
3. In some cases, we’ll need you to visit the clinic to issue your doctor’s certificate.
4. If we think medication could be helpful in getting you healthy and back on track, we’ll explore that too.
5. After your consultation, we’ll make the medical certificate available to you through your Tend app.

How do online appointments work?
1. Check in
You’ll get a reminder via text message just before your appointment asking you to check in. Click the check in button to confirm you are ready.
2. Accept video call
At your appointment time you’ll get a secure video call through the Tend app. No other apps are required.
3. Online consultation
Your doctor will call you through the Tend app to begin your consultation.
4. Care plan
Your appointment notes and any other information from your care team will appear in the Tend app. (We’ll send you a notification).
How do I pay for my Tend appointment?
**When you book your first appointment or enrol, you will be asked to enter card details – we accept credit and debit card.
**An authentication amount of $1 will then be applied to validate your card, and will be reimbursed once your card is confirmed.
**The Tend app uses bank-grade security and all your payment details are encrypted.
**We don’t charge you until after your appointment, so if you are entitled to any kind of discount (e.g. you have a Community Services Card) or fee waiver, you can discuss this with your care team during your appointment. Your card will then be charged at the end of your Tend consultation.
**If you do have a Community Services Card (CSC), please take a photo of the front and back of your card and send it to customer experience via the Tend app so we can enter your details into our system and ensure you are charged correctly.
What are the opening hours?
Online appointments:
7am – 9pm, weekdays
8.30am – 4:30pm, weekends
In-clinic appointments:
Tend Kingsland: 7am – 5pm, weekdays
Tend Symonds Street: 8am – 5pm, weekdays
We are open for online appointments over Easter weekend and on ANZAC day.

Appointment costs
Online and in person appointments are the same price, and evening or weekend appointments don’t cost extra. You can book online or in person appointments for any time that is shown as available in the app.
