Tanzania Call & Postal Savings Accounts Opening Procedure

Call account is a saving account which operates like current account but limited within TPB branches only. The account can be operated by an individual, company or association.

Benefits:
** Depositing and Withdraw at any TPB branch countrywide
** Overdraft facility under special arrangement and agreement with the bank
** Ability to transact through any UMOJA Switch ATM countrywide
** Ability to transact through Mobile Banking, POS and Internet Banking

Requirements – Individuals / Clubs and Associations:
** Initial Deposit of TZS 20,000 for Individuals; TZS 50,000 for Clubs and Associations
** 3 recent passport size photos
** Employee’s Identity Card and letter from the Employer or Voter’s Id Card and letter from Ward Executive Secretary

Requirements – Companies:
** Certificate of Registration/Incorporation
** Copy of Memorandum of Association
** Copy of Business Licence
** Copy of Minutes of Board Resolution (authorizing FRD opening)
** List of Board Directors
** One (1) passport size photo of each Director/Signatory

Postal Savings Account (PSA):
Postal Savings account is the product in which a customer uses a passbook for deposit and withdraws.

Features:
** Transaction records are kept in the passbook and the passbook is kept by the customer
** It can be opened both as joint account or individual account.
** It can be opened as Minor Account for children under 18 years of age.

Requirements:
** Initial Deposit of TZS 10,000
** 3 recent passport size photos

About Us :
Tanganyika Postal Office Savings Bank (now Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB)) came into being in 1925 when Tanganyika was under British Rule. It later became a Savings Bank under the then East African Post and Telecommunications which ceased to operate after the collapse of the East African Community.
