Citizenship applications are designed for foreign nationals who wish to assume Eswatini Citizenship upon fulfilling provision of the Citizenship Act, 1992 and the country’s Constitution.

Classes Of Citizenship Application & Requirements

Class C1

Applicants Above 21 Years :
Requirements :
** Application form
** Finger Prints (from nearest police station)
** Covering letter
** Residence Permit/ Khonta letter from chief and or certified Birth certificate
** Two passport sized photos
** E500.00 pre-application fee paid at revenue offices
** Non –Swazi Pin /Khonta Classified Pin
** Upon issuance of certificate, applicants would be required to pay E1 000.00

Class C2

Women Married To A Swazi Citizen By Birth :
Requirements :
** Application form
** Finger prints
** Covering letter from husband
** Husband birth or citizenship certificate (certified copy)
** Marriage Certificate
** Two passport sized photos
** Amount E100.00 for pre-application fee paid at revenue offices
** Both pins (husband and wife)
** Upon issuance of certificate applicants would be required to pay E1 000.00

Class C3

Applicant Below 21 Years :
Requirements :
** Application form
** Birth Certificate
** Parents Citizenship status
** Two passport sized photos
** Pre- Application fee E500.00 paid at revenue offices
** Non- Swazi Pin
** Upon issuance of certificate applicants would be required to pay E5 000.00

NB :
PERIOD OF PROCESSING CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION IS DETERMINED BY THE CITIZENSHIP BOARD AFTER GOING THROUGH EACH APPLICATION. FURTHERMORE, IF CITIZENSHIP IS APPROVED BY THE BOARD, THE SYSTEM WOULD REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING STEPS SO AS TO ENABLE THE “ESWATINI BY REGISTRATION” PERSONAL IDENTITY NUMBER (PIN) TO BE GENERATED;

** Details from previous citizenship country
** Renewed Details
** Payment for certificate made at revenue offices

Personal Identity Cards

Identity card process :
Liswati by Birth :
** Certified copy of birth certificate
** Certified copy of graded tax certificate (for males 16 years and above).

Liswati by Registration :
** Certified copy of Citizenship certificate

Non – Liswati :
** Certified copy of passport page with particulars, photo and page with entry stamp
** Valid temporal residence, work or student permit
** Tax clearance certificate

Issuance Of Personal Identity Cards For Refugees :
Screen the refugee status permit then fill them an I.D form and take them to civil registration to get a pin number. After having a pin number we send them to their nearest civil registration station to apply for an I.D leaving behind all the papers which were used to apply for the pin number to be filled.

Requirements for Asylum seekers non Swazi ID :
** Confirmation letter
** Permit number from the immigration department
** Fill Pin 1 form.

Requirements for Refugee ID :
** Status permit with certified copy
** Fill a Refugee ID form
** Electronic form
