Who May Register?
** A vessel owned by a citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica
** A vessel owned by a citizen of another CARICOM State
** A vessel which is not required to be classified by a Recognized Classification Society under the provisions of the International Maritime Regulations.
Documents Required
For Small Commercial Vessels, Less than 24 meters in length :
** Application for Official Number, Call Sign and Registration of Vessel
** Proof of Authority of Agent or Officer executing registration documents
** Proof of Ownership, Bill of Sale or Builders Certificate
** Consent of Government of present Registry to transfer as applicable
** Agent in country of registration/Home Port
** If new to the Registry an initial inspection is required against standards set by the Small Commercial Vessels (SCV) Code
** Marine Safety Officer or Officer in charge of approval of vessel for registration
** Minimum Safe Manning Certificate
** All fees payable before the issuance of certification
** Certificate of Inspection
** Proof of a satisfactory liability insurance coverage approved by the Administration
For vessels under 500 GT and 24 metres and more in length :
** Application for Official Number, Call Sign and registration of vessel
** Proof of Authority of Agent or Officer executing registration documents
** Proof of Ownership, Bill of Sale or Builder’s Certificate
** Proof of satisfactory liability insurance coverage approved by the Maritime Administration
** Consent of Government of present Registry to transfer if applicable
** Mortgage Recordation if applicable
** Minimum Safe Manning Certificate
** Marine safety Officer or officer in charge of approval of vessel for registration
** If new to Registry a complete initial survey is required re Standards in Code of Safety for Caribbean Cargo Ships (CCSS Code)
** Agent to be established in country of registration/Homeport
For Yacht Registration, Application for Official Number, Call Sign and Registration of Vessel :
** Proof of ownership, Bill of Sale/Builder’s Certificate
** Consent of Government of present Registry to Transfer as applicable
** Marine Safety Officer or Officer in Charge of approval of vessel for registration
** Proof of satisfactory liability insurance coverage approved by the Administration
** Proof of Authority of Agent or Officer executing Registration Documents
** If new to the Registry a complete initial inspection/survey is required to meet standards set out by the Codes
** Mortgage Recordation if applicable
** Minimum Safe Manning Certificate if applicable
** All fees payable before the issuance of certificate.
