Apply For Civil Identity Card

Issue/Replacement of Civil Identity Card:
The acquisition and possession of Civil Identity Card is compulsory for any eligible person who has completed twelve years of age.

Civil Identity Cards are issued to the following persons:
Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus.

For issue / replacement of Civil Identity Cards citizens should submit their applications at the local offices of District Administration in Nicosia, Limassol, Famagusta, Larnaca and Paphos or the local Citizen Service Centres.

Required documents:
** A completed relevant application form.
** A 4 X 5 cm photograph, certified by the respective community president. In case the applicant presents himself personally the above certification is not necessary.
** Original Birth Certificate.
** Original Marriage Certificate in the case of a married woman who wants to change her surname or a Divorce Certificate in case of a divorced woman.
** Passport in case the applicant has an additional nationality except for the Cypriot one

Fee:
Application fee/renewal €20
Issuance/renewal of limited valitidy I.D for adults €15
Replacement of I.D: €20
Replacement of I.D, due to loss/theft or damage: double the previous fees.

In case of loss or theft of the Civil Identity Card the applicant submits additionally:
** Affidavit from Court regarding loss or theft of the Civil Identity Card
** Written Complaint to Police reporting loss or theft of the Civil Identity Card

How Can I Find Out At What Stage Is My Application For A Residence Permit?
If you wish to find out the progress of your application for a residence permit, you can send a free SMS to 8999. Send the message with the word STATUS leave a space and add the number of your application. The application number can be found on the receipt Γ.Λ 301 which you received at the time of submission. e.g STATUS 1234/2014

How Will I Be Informed About The Result Of The Examination Of My Application For A Residence Permit?
If the application is approved you will receive a notification for receiving your residence permit. If the application is rejected you will receive a relevant letter.

From Where Will I Receive My Residence Permit?
You will receive your residence permit from the place where you had submitted the application. You have to have with you the notification of receiving the permit, the Letter of Terms and an identification document.
