Orphan Guardianship Program :
The Orphan Guardianship Program manages the commitment of an individual to secure all expenses necessary for the upbringing of one or more orphans who live in a care centre.

This alternative system is for individuals who would like to foster children, but are not able to do so or who do not meet the requirements for fostering. The funds are transferred to the concerned authorities who in turn administer the funds appropriately. The Child Care Centre adopted the program to secure the success of all the children at the centre.

Orphan children who are living in the Child Care Centre
Steps to follow to request the service :
A. Process Steps :
** Select a child living in the care centre or allow the centre administration to do so for you.
** Complete the guardianship form available at the centre.
** Request the child’s account number from the centre administration.
** Deposit the monthly amounts in the bank monthly or yearly.
** The centre administration receives bank statements showing amounts deposited.
What documents are needed to process :
** Orphan Guardianship Form available at the Child Care Centre.
** Orphan Guardianship Form.
** Copy of passport or ID.
** 4 photographs.
** Marriage certificate or marital status certificate. (i.e. not married, widowed).
** Medical certificates from all host family members confirming no family member has any contagious diseases.
** Financial Status Certificate.
** Salary / Income Certificate.
** Ownership of a residence or rental agreement.
Special conditions if any applicable :
** Must be a Muslim Omani family.
** Must be a wife – husband family. In exceptional cases a child could be fostered to a woman.
** Must be of good conduct.
** Must be proven of good standing and able t o care for the child socially, psychologically as found by the social study.
** Medical certificate of all members of the family confirming non is infected by a communicable disease.
** Must have no children. The proper authorities can give an exemption to this regulation.
How the service is processed :
Process takes one week from the date of application and applicant is notified by phone.
How long will it take :
Applications are processed within 30 days from the date of submission. Applicant is notified by phone.
