Procedures for New National ID Card (for men) :
The National ID card is issued to every citizen when he reaches the age of fifteen (15).

The applicant is required to submit the following:
** Four (4) recent color photographs, 4×6 cm in size, full frontal view without spectacles.
** Identification Letter from school if he is a student; or submit a copy of last school certificate.
** Birth Certificate and a copy if available.
** Father’s original Family Register and a copy of it.
** Present himself along with his father, uncle, brother or a legal guardian.
** If the father is dead, a copy of Inheritance Certificate is required; and applicant’s guardian, brother or uncle must attend to the Civil Affairs Department.
** Fill the specified # (56) form.

Procedures for New National ID Card (for women):
A Saudi female can apply for a National ID card for the first time if she meets the following criteria:
** Applicant must be a Saudi woman.
** She must have a civil affairs register.
** Applicant minimum age must be 18 years; if necessary, the ID card can be issued to a woman who completed fifteen (15) years of age.
** Applicant must provide one (1) recent frontal clear colour photo, size 4X6 cm., face uncovered and without glasses of contact lens; neck and hair covered.
** Applicant must submit a copy of the Family Register (Family Book) of her father or husband.
** Applicant must submit her original civil register if she already has it issued.
** Applicant must submit an Identification Letter from her school or a Letter of Employment from her employer if she is an employee. However, she must submit a statement of consent written by her husband if she is a homemaker.
** Applicant must submit the original and/or authenticated copy of the divorce certificate from her husband if she still belongs to her husband’s family book.
** A widowed applicant must submit the original death certificate and a copy of it besides the Inheritance Certificate if she still belongs to the deceased husband’s family book.
** Applicant must submit her Birth Certificate along with a copy of it, if available.
** Applicant must present herself along with her husband, father or legal guardian.
** Applicant must fill the specified # (56/2) Form.

Proof of identification shall be through one of the following methods:
A – Attendance of a guardian or husband at the Civil Affairs, Men’s Department, with his national identity card and a copy of it or;
B – Attendance of a Saudi woman, who must be family member of the applicant, at the Civil Affairs, Women’s Department, with her national identity card and a copy of it or;
C – Attendance of two women, not relatives of the applicant but knows the applicant sufficiently, at the Civil Affairs, Women’s Department, with their national identity cards and a copy of each or;
D – Attendance of applicant at the Civil Affairs, Women’s Department, with her Saudi passport and a copy of it; provided that the passport is free of erase, modification or addition.

Procedures for national ID card issued instead of damaged, lost, stolen:
To obtain a replacement for a damaged, lost or stolen National ID card, the applicant must:
** Submit two (2) recent colour photographs, 4×6 cm in size, full frontal view without spectacles.
** In the case of loss, the replacement will be issued after fourteen (14) days from the date of filing.
** Submit the original Civil Affairs ID card in case of damage or a copy in case of loss.
** In case of loss or damage, a proof showing the cause is required.
** An evidence letter from the police is required if the ID card is stolen.
** Fill the specified # (58) Form.

Procedures for Renewal of ID Card :

To renew the National ID card, the applicant must:
** Submit two recent color photographs, 4×6 cm in size, full frontal view without spectacles.
** Submit the original Civil Affairs ID card and a copy of it.
** Submit the original Family Register (Family Book) and a copy of it if married.
** Fill the specified # (58) Form.
