The Labour Division determines the comparability of foreign qualifications awards to qualifications awarded nationally. A “Statement of Equivalence” provides authoritative advice on the comparability of recognised qualifications in foreign countries.

They can be used for employment, training, professional registration or matriculation in tertiary education programmes. Equivalent qualifications can allow you to gain entry to ‘further study’ in Dominica and may even earn you credits. The institution receiving the credits makes the final decision on the acceptability and value of the credits towards completion of its qualifications.

Equivalence Assessment Fees :
Below are the fees in regards to Equivalence Assessment.

1.Application processing $20.00 (non refundable)

2.Standard Evaluation Report (a comprehensive evaluation report which includes : an overview of the issuing country’s educational system; description of qualification; employment related information; comparability of award and description of comparable level.)

a.Priority Service :
Low (minimum of 30 working days) $200.00
Medium (minimum of 20 working days) $360.00
High (minimum of 10 working days) $500.00

b. Certified Statement (a basic statement which certifies certain specific information related to the qualification) $120.00

Note : Processing time: minimum of 20 working days

c. Extra copies (Additional official copies requested at time of application) $40.00

3. Mailing services (costs per address based on prevailing postage rates)

4. Appeal (applicant disagrees with evaluation report) $400.00 per request + charges for use of independent experts (where necessary)

5. Cancellation (cancellation of request after evaluation process has started (Recoup a percentage of costs expended in evaluation process up to point of cancellation)) $150.00
