Your application is subject to our approval. To apply for a credit card you must :
1. Have an income*
2. Be over 18 years and older
3. Be a South African citizen

Here is a checklist of the information we will need from you when considering your application and that of an additional card holder.. Be sure to answer all the questions marked * and as many other questions as possible. There are also explanations of some of the questions to help you complete the forms. These are indicated by a

*The income qualifying criteria for Standard Bank Blue and MasterCard Blue Online card is R3,500 per month.

How to apply :
The online application uses secure encryption technology so your personal information is secure.

Online – this takes a few minutes. Simply follow these steps :
1. Confirm certain product details.
2.Tell us who you are. You’ll need your identity document or passport number and date of issue.
3.Tell us where you live. Include the postal code.
4.Confirm your employment details.

Provide your banking details. You’ll have to decide in which way you’d like the regular payments to your credit card account made.

Tell us whether you’d like an additional card linked to your credit card account. You’ll need to give us the identity number of the person who will use the card. If you do not require an additional card Step 7 will not be displayed.

Read our consent clauses and acknowledge that you’ve given correct information on your application

Card Safety :
Your credit card gives you a safe way to make transactions, both locally and abroad. All you need to do is follow a few basic precautions, such as
** Guard your PIN
** Register for free SMS MyUpdates
** Keep your eyes open at an ATM

But we’re always here to help you if something does go wrong. The moment your card is lost or stolen, or if you believe your personal details (like your PIN) may have been revealed, call our Lost Card Division immediately on 0800 020 600.

Please have your card number or identity number handy and make a note of the reference number given to you by Customer Care.

Your replacement card will have a new card number. If you have debit orders against your card account, you will need to give your new card number to the debit order recipients.

To track your case, please call our Financial Crime Division on 010 249 0017. You will need to use the reference number given to you by the Lost Card Division.

Lost Card Protection :
Lost Card Protection is a free service that protects you against loss caused by fraudulent use of your card if it is lost or stolen up to 24 hours prior to first reporting of the event to the bank. Lost Card Protection does not cover transactions in which your PIN was used.

Once you report your card as lost or stolen, our Lost Card Division will issue you with a reference number, which you need to give to our Financial Crime Division in the event of fraudulent transactions appearing on your card account.

To track your case, please call our Financial Crime Division on 010 249 0017 with the reference number given to you by the Lost Card Division.

Please note :
** You are not protected against transactions in which your PIN is used.

** You may not be protected if you fail to report the loss of your card as soon as possible, or if you compromised your card details to a third party, depending on the circumstances.

** You will be liable for any fraudulent transactions that have not been reported within 60 days from the date of transaction.

** If you have two cards and one of them is reported lost, do not use the additional card. If your card is linked to a garage card, don’t use your garage card until a new number has been allocated to you.
