ROP Police Clearance Certificate

This certificate is issued to the Omani citizen and resident foreign nationals presently or previously residing in the Sultanate for the following purposes :

** Practicing commercial business outside the Sultanate
** Obtaining entry visas for certain countries
** Immigration to other countries
** Working as tourists guide
** Joining the University
** Other similar purposes

Requirements For The Issue Of The Certificate

For Omanis :
** Filled application form
** Copy of the passport or the Identity Card
** Two Photographs (4 x 4)
** Payment of the specified fees of RO 3.000

For Resident Expatriate :
** Letter from the sponsor
** Filled application form
** Copy of the Passport
** Two Photographs (4 x 4)
** Finger prints
** Payment of the specified fees of RO 3.000

For Foreigners Staying Outside The Sultanate :
** A letter from the applicant, indicating their name and mail address.
** Two photographs (4 x 4)
** Copy of the passport including the pages containing the previous residence stamp during the applicant’s residence in Oman .
** Transfer the fees of US $12.00 (Not Cheque ** Draft) or equivalent thereof in the Directorate General of Inquires and Criminal Investigations’ account no. 3106-453888-500, Oman Arab Bank, Qurum Branch, swift code (OMABOMRU).
** Submit by express mail confirmation of the depositing together with the application to the Director of Criminal Evidence, Directorate General of Inquires and Criminal Investigations, Royal Oman Police, P.O BOX , 446 Muscat ,113 Sultanate of Oman.

Enter the Sultanate if I am a foreign resident in an AGCC state?
** It is granted to a foreigner who is resident in any member state of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC), provided that his occupation is not of low grade. It is also granted to members of their families, relatives and those in their company as long as they enter together.

** This visa is valid for staying the country for four weeks, and is extendable for one week.
** It is granted at the entry point directly.
** Fees: RO 3 ,( RO 1 for entering Musandam Governorate Only )
** Delay fine : RO 10 Per day .

Requirements :
** An applicant must have valid residence permit in an AGCC state.
** They should be in an occupation approved for entry.
** Their passport must be valid for not less than 6 months.

** Families, drivers, servants, attendants, and dependants of those residents are eligible for this visa , provided that they present their labour cards, and their passport are valid for not less than 6 months .
** All nationalities in AGCC states are eligible for this visa.

The concept of a modern police force is relatively new to Oman. Hardly 30 years, ago, no internal security force existed in the country Security was the responsibility If of the local walis who carried it out with the help of local “Askars”. The police presence was limited to the township of Muscat and Muttrah.

Additional Simplified Procedure

You can request for a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) online or by visiting a ROP office.

Here are the steps on how to do it online:
1. Go to the ROP website: https://www.rop.gov.om/.
2. Click on the “Online Services” tab.
3. Click on the “Police Clearance Certificate” button.
4. Log in to your account using your username and password. If you don’t have an account, you can create one by clicking on the “Create an Account” link.

5. Enter the following information:
** Your name
** Your passport number
** Your date of birth
** Your nationality
** The purpose of the PCC
** The country where you will be using the PCC

6. Click on the “Submit” button. You will receive an email confirmation once your request is submitted. You will also be able to track your request status online.

Here are some important things to note when requesting for a ROP PCC online:
** You can request for a PCC up to 30 days before the date you need it.
** You can request for a PCC online or by visiting a ROP office.
** You will need to pay a processing fee of OMR 10 for each PCC request.
** The processing time for a PCC request is usually 2 weeks.
** If your request is approved, you will be issued a PCC in PDF format.
** You can print out the PCC and use it for the purpose you requested it for.
