A more detailed description of NPRA’s roles and structure can be found on the NPRA website.

3. What is a sponsored visa?
** A sponsored visa for the Kingdom of Bahrain is a visa that you can only obtain through an individual or company in Bahrain who acts as the sponsor.
** Work visas in Bahrain always require a sponsor, and so do visit visas for many nationalities.
** If you wish to visit a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and do not qualify for an unsponsored visa, you may be sponsored by the resident (or by the employer of this person).

4. What can I do if I am not eligible to apply through this site?
** You need to note what visa types you are eligible for, and the method of applying.
** If you have business dealings with Bahrain, then the company or organisation in Bahrain may be able to sponsor you. If you are a tourist, you will need to contact a travel agent, airline or hotel in Bahrain. In some cases travellers are eligible to obtain a visa on arrival in Bahrain. Otherwise, contact your nearest Bahrain embassy for further advice.

5. How secure is a payment through this site?
** Payments by credit or debit card are processed through the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait Internet payment gateway, a leader in the provision of on-line payment services. The payment gateway provides a secure method for authorising credit or debit card transactions over the Internet and has been specifically evaluated and approved by the providers of the credit and debit cards you can use on this site.

** Your credit or debit card details are encrypted the moment they are transmitted by you and are encrypted as they are transmitted through to the banking network.

6. What browser security requirement is there on this site?
** This site uses a secure protocol (HTTPS) for all transmissions of personal data between your browser and the site. This is to ensure the security and privacy of your information. Your browser must be able to support HTTPS.

** The site will attempt to establish a secure session using 128 bit encryption. If your browser does not support this level of encryption, then the session will not be established and you will not be able to complete an application for an eVisa.
