Working With Children Renewing WWC Card

Your WWC Card expires after three years. It is an offence for you to engage in child-related work if your WWC Card has expired and you have not re-applied.

For this reason, we recommend you renew at least one month before your WWC Card expires and no earlier than three months before its expiry. Providing your information is current you will receive a reminder email three months before your WWC Card expires.

Reminder letters are no longer sent to card holders. To receive a reminder email please register an online account and update your email information. Click here to update your email address.

Where your WWC Card is valid and you are renewing, there are two ways to renew :
** complete and submit an online renewal form (providing you are eligible); or
** re-apply by completing an Application for a Working with Children Check form and lodging it at an authorised Australia Post outlet.

Card Expired

If your WWC Card has expired then you must re-apply by completing an Application for a Working with Children Check form and lodging it at an authorised Australia Post outlet. This is the same process as your first application. You will not be eligible to use the online renewal process

Renewing online

You can use the online renewal process if :
** your WWC Card is currently valid and is within three months of its expiry (renewals cannot be accepted any earlier);
** you have had no changes in your personal information (name, date of birth or gender) since your previous application;

** you previously applied using an Application for a Working with Children Check form and lodged it at an authorised Australia Post outlet;
** you have registered to use the online services offered by the WWC Screening Unit and are shown as eligible to apply online. Click here to register; and

** your employer, volunteer organisation or education provider’s authorised representative has agreed to confirm your child-related work using the online renewal process.

To complete the online renewal form you will need to have with you :
** your Visa or MasterCard credit card or debit card,
** your Western Australian driver’s licence (if you have one), and

** if you are an employee, volunteer or student, the details of your employer, volunteer organisation or education provider’s authorised representative (the person who is authorised to confirm your child-related work on behalf of the organisation). This includes their name, position title, email address, phone number and street and postal address.

How to Complete a WWC Online Renewal Form

An online renewal form takes approximately five to ten minutes to complete and must be completed in one session as there is no facility to save.

** Advise your employer, volunteer organisation or education provider representative that you are eligible and wish to renew your WWC Card using the online renewal form. They will be required to confirm your child-related work.

** Register to use the online renewal form or login if you are already registered. Set your email spam filters to allow messages from “wwc-noreply [AT] cpfs.wa.gov.au”.
