Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment
The information on this page is a guide for Singapore Citizen – Non-Resident (SC-NR) couples wanting to submit a Pre-Marriage LTVP Assessment (PMLA).
SC-NR couples are encouraged to submit a PMLA before getting married. The PMLA provides greater clarity on whether the intended non-resident spouse may qualify for long-term stay in Singapore.
If you are assessed to be eligible for an LTVP, you will be issued a Letter of LTVP Eligibility (LLE) that is valid for one year. You can then use this LLE in your application, after your marriage.
Failing to complete a PMLA may lead to a longer processing time when you do submit a post-marriage LTVP application.
Check Re-Entry Permit Validity
Ensure that you have a valid Re-Entry Permit (REP). A valid REP is necessary whenever a Singapore permanent resident (PR) wishes to travel out of Singapore.
It enables a PR to retain their PR status while away from Singapore. A PR who remains outside Singapore without a valid REP will lose their PR status.
