About Us :
Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) came into being as an instrument of Government through the State Independent Electoral Commission establishment Law 2000 published in Gazette No. 43 Vol 25 of 26th October, 2000, in accordance with secion 197 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Repulic of Nigeria.
The First Commission was inaugurated on 9th June, 2001 for a five year tenure, followed by the second Commision on the 30th March, 2007, while the third Commission was inaugurated on the 7th June, 2012.
