BRTA Renewal of Fitness Certificate

For renewing fitness certificate the owner of the vehicle need to apply in prescribed form to the Motor Vehicle Inspector of the BRTA circle office from where the registration certificate has been issued or from where last fitness certificate issued.

BRTA Vehicle Registration Process

The owner should bring the vehicle to the Motor Vehicle Inspector for physical inspection.

Required Documents :
1. Filled up prescribed application form with signature.
2. Payment Slip (BRTA copy);
3. Previous Fitness certificate (original copy);

4. Update attested photocopy of the tax token;
5. Attested copy of TIN Certificate;
6. Proof of payment of Advance Income Tax;

Digital Registration Certificate (DRC)

** Instead of the Paperbook format registration certificate and the electronic registration of the newly registered motorcycle, the high-security feature-rich Digital Registration Certificate (DRC) is being provided.

** After submission of the DRC fee, the customer is notified via SMS to provide biometrics (four fingerprint, digital photo and signature) to the customer.

** In order to provide biometrics, the customer has to make an appointment through SMS. When the DRC is created, the customer is notified through SMS and likewise the customer can accept the appointment of the DRC at the scheduled time.

To provide the biometrics of digital registration certificate (photograph, fingerprint and signature), the following documents must be brought together
** Original copy of the submission fee for the DRC (555 /) and photocopy of one set (A4 size);

** Original copy of registration certificate / acknowledgment receipt and photocopy of one set (A4 size);
** Photocopy of a set with original ID card / driving license (smart card) / machine readable passport;

A) How to make an appointment for biometrics for digital registration certificates:
Go to SMS option of mobile and type NP <space> B <space> date type to 6969. For example, if you want APPOINTMENT for the date of February 15, please send NP B 15 to 6969.

** Please note that there is no need to write month, year, in case of SMS (preferred date). You can be given biometrics at your mentioned time on your mobile phone.

B) To make an appointment for a digital registration certificate, you must make an appointment:
** To send SMS to mobile, type NP <space> C <space> Date and send it to 6969. For example, if you want APPOINTMENT for the date of February 20, please send NP C 20 to 6969.

** The return message can be accepted and digital registration certificates can be received at the time specified. If the certificate can not be accepted on a scheduled date, it can be re-appointment in the same way.

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) was Established under section 2A of Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1983, (Amendment-1987) Vide SRO No-303/Law/87/MVRT/1E-7/84(part), Dated 20/12/87 and has been functioning since January 1988.

BRTA is a regulatory body to control manage and ensure discipline in the road transport sector and road safety related areas in Bangladesh. It is an authority under the Ministry of Communication for carrying out the purposes mentioned in the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1983.

The Chairman is the chief executive of the authority. He exercises such power and performs such function as prescribed by rules and assigned by the government from time to time.

Additional Simplified Procedure

To renew your fitness certificate in Bangladesh, you can follow these steps:
1. Check the expiry date of your fitness certificate. You can do this by logging into the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) website or by visiting one of their service centers.

2. Make sure that you have all the required documents. These include:
** A filled-up application form with signature
** A copy of your driving license
** A copy of your vehicle registration certificate
** A copy of your tax token
** A copy of your insurance certificate
** A fitness test report from a registered mechanic

3. Renew your fitness certificate online or at a BRTA service center. If you are renewing your fitness certificate online, you can do so through the BRTA’s BSP (Bangladesh Service Portal) website. If you are renewing your fitness certificate at a service center, you will need to bring all of your required documents with you.

4. Pay the renewal fee. The renewal fee is BDT 500 for private vehicles and BDT 1000 for commercial vehicles. You can pay the fee using a credit card, debit card, or cash.

5. Once your application is processed, you will be issued a new fitness certificate.

Here are the steps on how to renew your fitness certificate online:
1. Go to the BSP website.
2. Click on the “Fitness Certificate Renewal” tab.
3. Enter your vehicle registration number.
4. Enter your mobile number.
5. Submit your application.
6. You will receive an SMS with a link to pay the renewal fee.
7. Pay the renewal fee.
8. Your application will be processed and you will be issued a new fitness certificate.

  1. While transferring the ownership of the car which I purchased, my father’s name was erroneously entered/recorded. Particulars are given below:
    a. Owner name: Major General Md. Zia-ur-Rahman,ndc,psc
    b. Registration Number: Dhaka Metro-Ga-144441
    c. Father’s Name: Hazi Md. Jalilur Rahman Talukder.

    Father’s name instead of Jalilur Rahman erroneously entered Khalilur Rahman. You are requested to take necessary action for correction
