How Do I Order Personalized Licence Plates :
Without graphics :
** personalized licence plates with the French slogan “Tant à Découvrir” can be ordered online, by calling 1-800-AUTO-PL8 (1-800-288-6758) or at a ServiceOntario centre.

** Order a personalized licence plate online

With graphics :
** only the Franco-Ontarian graphic licence plate is available with the French slogan “Tant à Découvrir”.
** See all graphic licence plates available
** To exchange a personalized licence plate with the English slogan to one in French, you need to order a replacement plate at a ServiceOntario centre.
** Visit a ServiceOntario centre

Personalized licence plate :
** How to order a personalized licence plate for your vehicle.
** A personalized licence plate message may contain almost any combination of letters and numbers.
** You can also choose to include graphics such as the loon, a trillium, or a logo in support of your favourite Ontario professional sports team, community organization or university.
** There are over 60 graphics available to choose from

To order a personalized licence plate you will need :
** your driver’s licence number or registrant identification number
** your choice of eligible licence plate content (letters, numbers, and graphic)

Cost :
For passenger or commercial vehicles :
** 2 to 8 characters (letters and/or numbers) without a graphic – $310
** 2 to 6 characters (letters and/or numbers) with a graphic – $336.40

For motorcycles :
** 2 to 5 characters (letters and/or numbers) without a graphic — $310

Payment :
** VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Interac® Online

Delivery :
** 4 weeks by mail

Online completion time :
** Average 10 minutes

Note :
** Any outstanding fines, non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees, and Highway 407 tolls related to your licence plate will be added to your online transaction total.
** Personalized licence plates cannot be registered to limited speed motorcycles.

How can I replace a lost, stolen, or damaged licence plate or personalized licence plate :
** If your plate has been lost you must visit a ServiceOntario centre to get a replacement.

Cost: $40
You must bring the following items :
** identification
** proof of valid insurance
** the vehicle permit (plate and vehicle portion)
** the other plate (if applicable)

** a completed replacement declaration (police services information is not required)
** If you do not have the vehicle permit you can have it replaced at a ServiceOntario centre at an additional charge.
** If your plate has been stolen you must visit a ServiceOntario centre to get a replacement.

Cost: $40
You must bring the following items :
** identification
** proof of valid insurance
** the vehicle permit (plate and vehicle portion)
** the other plate (if applicable)

** a completed replacement declaration (police services information is required – visit your local police services or if it’s a telephone or on-line report, include the occurrence number on the form)
** If you do not have the vehicle permit you can have it replaced at a ServiceOntario centre at an additional charge.
** If your plate has been damaged you need to visit a ServiceOntario centre to get a replacement.

You must bring the following items :
** identification
** proof of valid insurance
** the vehicle permit (plate and vehicle portion)
** the damaged plates
** If you do not have the vehicle permit you can have it replaced at a ServiceOntario centre at an additional charge.

Personalized Plates

** You will receive a set of regular plates at no charge to use on your vehicle until your personalized plates are replaced.
** You must wait 6 months before the stolen personalized plates can be replaced.

When the personalized plates arrive, bring the following items to a ServiceOntario centre :
** your interim plates
** the letter you received with the replacement personalized plates
** the vehicle and plate portions of the permit for the interim plates
** the name of your insurance company and your policy number
** You will need to complete and sign the application for registration form (available at ServiceOntario).
