** Our application status checker allows you to confirm whether we have received your licence application and to check on its progress.

** The service gives an ‘at-a-glance’ indication of where your application is in the licensing process.
** It also provides detailed information that explains exactly what is happening with your application –

For example :
** “Your application was received on [DATE].
** We are currently making sure you have provided all the information we need.
** We aim to process correctly completed applications within five weeks.”
** “Your application was incomplete.
** A letter was sent on [DATE] which explains what information we require to resolve this.
** We have not taken payment for your application.”
** The status checker can also tell you if we have made a decision on whether to grant you a licence – and if we have, it will tell you what that decision is.

Application Status Checker :
** Entering application number is the most efficient way to search for an application.
** If you do not have the application number, please enter surname, first name and date of birth.

Application Tracker :
** Our application status checker allows you to confirm whether we have received your application and to check on its progress.
** We aim to process a minimum of 80% of all correctly completed applications within 25 working days.
** This time starts from the day your application is entered onto our system and ends on the day we make our decision.

** The clock is stopped if your application fails its checks – that is, if we have to send it back to you because you have not filled it in correctly or you have not provided the required supporting documentation.

** The clock is reset when you send your application back to us.
** Complex applications (for example, applications subject to additional criminality or qualification enquiries and those requiring overseas criminality checks) may take longer than 25 working days.

Additional Generic Procedure

You can check the status of your SIA UK licence application by logging in to your SIA online account.

To do this, follow these steps:
1) Go to the SIA website (https://services.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/).
2) Click on the “Log in” button.
3) Enter your username and password.
4) Click on the “Log in” button.
5) Once you are logged in, click on the “My Applications” tab.
6) Your application status will be displayed on the page.

The status of your application will be one of the following:
1) In progress: Your application is being processed.
2) Pending: Your application is waiting for a decision.
3) Approved: Your application has been approved.
4) Refused: Your application has been refused.

If your application is in progress, you will not be able to see the decision until it is made. However, you can check the status of your application regularly to see if there are any updates. If you have any questions about your application status, you can contact the SIA helpdesk.
