Types of FEBGIF Grants

Provide insurance coverage, Benevolent Grant and benefits under other welfare schemes. The Funds has disbursed more than Rs. 13,875 million up to 30th June, 2016 under its welfare schemes. More than 40% families have so far received benefits from the Funds. More than 649,000 Federal Government Employees are being covered under its welfare schemes.

Burial Charges

Burial Charges of Rs. 10,000 on death before 70 years’ age

Monthly Benevolent Grant

Monthly Benevolent Grant (Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 4,000) on medical retirement or on death during service or on death after retirement before 70 years’ age of the employee.

Sum Assured

Sum Assured (Rs. 199,000 to Rs. 700,000) on death during service.

Farewell Grant

Farewell Grant equal to one month pay on retirement after 20 years’ service.

Marriage Grant

Marriage Grant of Rs. 50,000 on marriage of one child of serving, retired and deceased employees.

Education Stipends

Education Stipends for two children studying in intermediate or above excluding M.Phil/PhD. programs of serving, retired and deceased employees as per following categories :-

Category-I : 100% reimbursement of tuition/semester fee for professional studies (medical, IT, Engineering and Business studies) in public sector universities/colleges/institutions.

Category-II : Children studying in Intermediate and have obtained 80% marks in the last held examination Rs. 10,000 p.a.

Category-III : Children studying in Graduation and have obtained 80% marks in the last held examination Rs. 12,000 p.a.
Category-IV : Children studying in Masters and have obtained 80% marks in the last held examination Rs. 15,000 p.a.

Category-V : Professional studies of Engineering, IT, Business studies and Medical in private universities and, have obtained 70% marks in the last held examination—Rs. 20,000 p.a

The FEB & GIF has so far paid to more than 229,369 families.
What is current state of beneficiaries receiving the monthly benevolent grant?
At present, 70,760 beneficiaries are receiving the grant of Benevolent Fund.

State yearly amount of Sum Assured being disbursed to the beneficiaries from Group Insurance scheme?
More than Rs.582 million per annum is being disbursed to the bereaved family members of the deceased employees.

Presently, more than Rs.890 million per annum is being paid to the beneficiaries.

Does the FEB & GIF covers the employees working in Federal Government departments only?
No. In addition to the Federal Government employees the FEB & GIF also covers employees working in Federal autonomous organizations after approval by the Federal Government for the purpose.

What is the amount so far disbursed to the families of Federal Government Employees?
The FEB & GIF had disbursed more that Rs. 13,875 million since its inception in April 1969 to June 2011.

Whether the rates of contributions/benefits are based on any technical study of the Funds or decided “as rule of thumb”?
The contribution/benefit structure is based on Actuarial Evaluation of the Funds. Evaluation of the Funds has so far been made five times.

** Pending: Your application is still pending. This could be because the FEBGIF committee is waiting for additional information from you.
