Get an eGate Card for Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Frequent travellers entering and exiting from Dubai International Airport do not need to wait in a long queue to get a passport stamped, if they use an eGate Card. The eGate Card, issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (DNRD), in association with the Department of Civil Aviation, allows passengers quicker access through the immigration process at Dubai Airport, Abu Dhabi Airport and Al Ain Airport. Criteria and Documents for eGate Card:
** New eGate card holder’s presence
** Original passport (with at least 6 month’s validity).
** You must be either a UAE citizen or an expatriate holding a resident visa.
** Passport photograph

Procedure and Fee:
Submit documents and do a finger-print ID. This procedure takes only about 5-10 minutes. Pay AED 200 per card.

Validity of Card :
The eGate Card is valid for two years. A similar procedure and fees are required for renewal.

Get a health card in Dubai :
Criteria for obtaining a health card in Dubai :
** In order to obtain a residency visa and labour card, all expatriates are required to undergo a medical and blood test. Employers usually arrange for all the necessary paperwork.

** If you are not covered by a company or private medical insurance, it is advisable to apply for a health card which entitles residents to low cost medical treatment at public hospitals and clinics.

** An application form can be collected from any public hospital then submitted (typed in Arabic), along with the correct documents to your local Health Care Center. The health card is valid for one year and can be renewed online.

Documents required

** Passport copy
** Covering letter from sponsor
** Visa application copy
** 2 passport size photographs
** Completed application form

Fees

Citizens (card valid for 4 years) :
** 0-9 Years – AED 25
** 10-17 Years – AED 50
** 18 Years and Above – AED 100

Non Citizens(card valid for 1 year) :
** 0-9 Years – AED 100
** 10-17 Years – AED 200
** 17 Years and Above – AED 300
** plus AED 200/- for medical examination

Obtain a new labour card :
Introduction :
** A labour card identifies an employee and his/her place of work. It should be obtained within 60 days from the date of arrival in the country and after medicals have been done. In case this is not followed, the employer will have to pay the incurred delay penalties.

Conditions

** The employer should not keep any expired labour cards or licences and should ensure that all his establishments have a violation-free record.

** The employee’s salary in the establishment he/she is going to work for should be proportional to his/her profession in that establishment.
** All the employer’s establishments should have been unified as per the ministry’s procedures.

Required documents :
** A photo of the employee.
** A copy of the establishment’s valid licence.
** A copy of entry visa.

** The employee’s valid health certificate.
** A copy of signature card.
** Three copies of employment contract, provided that they should bear the signatures of the employee and the employer as well as the establishment seal.

N. B. :
** A labour card is issued for two years (government employees for three years) renewable for a similar period with the consent of both the employer and the employee, in which case it should be renewed within 50 days from the date of expiry.

** The employer should pay the fees related to the employment contract and labour card as well as the fines incurred by the non-issuance or non-renewal of the card within the given period.

Fees :
** The labour card fees are included in the fees that have already been paid for obtaining a work permit.
