Marine Seafarer Documentation System User Manual :
Synopsis :
** The user manual of this section is more focused on public users ie seafarers, seafarers and doctors. It contains helpful instructions and guidance to help system users use the Seafarer Document System better.

** This manual also provides guidance on how to run applications easily and effectively. In the event of any problems the user may contact the corporate office for further information during working hours for inquiries and assistance.

Beginning :
1.1 Starting the System
1. Type <marine45.marine.gov.my/public> in Internet Explorer’s address bar to access Marine Department of Malaysia (JLM) Seafarer Document System (sdpx) website. The following displays will be displayed

2. Based on the diagram above, the user can choose the desired process such as :
I. Application or review of application status
II. Application for crew agreement
III. Certificate confirmation

1.1.1 Application and Review of application :
1. Click on the “Application & Review Application Status” link as shown below.
2. The following display will be displayed.
3. Here, the user must select the port office where the registration process will be processed.
4. List of port offices are as follows fig 4.

5. For display for other port offices, users can scroll down to make a choice of port office. After that, click the “Enter” button.
6. If the user presses the “Enter” button, the following display will be displayed.
7. Any registration-related matters will be possible from this site.

1.1.2 Application for a Shipowner Agreement :
1. Click on the “Shipbuilding Agreement Application” as shown below.
2. The following display will be displayed. Figure
3. As the process of application and registration of sailors, users need to select a port office where the crew’s agreement will be processed.

4. All arrangements for crew members either opening new articles, updating, information on crew members who will sail and so forth will be performed by seafarers or shipping company representatives in this part of the agreement.

1.1.3 Certification of Certificate
1. Click on the “Certificate Verification” link as shown below.
2. The following display will be displayed.
3. Through this site, users can do some online authentication process by selecting the desired process as shown below.

4. Any affairs related to certificate authentication will be possible from this site such as :
I. Certificate of Competence
Ii. Certificate of Recognition
Iii. Surveillance Watch Certification
Iv. Certificate of Endorsement Special Training
V. Sailor Profile

1.1.3.1 Verification Process
1. Select the type of certificate as shown below.
2. Enter the Certificate No in the available space and click the “Search” button
3. The following display will be displayed.
4. Click on the “Print” button for print or “Back” button to return to the previous page

5. For the Sailor Profile Verification process, the user must include the seafarers in the available space as shown below.
6. Click on the “Search” button
7. Display as below will be displayed.
8. Click on the “Print” button to print or “Back” button to return to the previous page

1.2 Exit System :
** Click the button located in the top-right corner of the window to exit this sdpx system. Additionally, users can also continue to browse the other pages directly without having to check out. This is because the site for this public user is open type of page.

Additional Simplified Procedure

The Malaysia Marine Seafarer Documentation System (SPDX) is an online platform for seafarers to apply for and manage their marine certificates and documents. Here’s how you can access it:

1. Visit the SPDX website:
** Go to the official website of the Marine Department Malaysia: https://www.marine.gov.my/
** Click on “Seafarer Documentation System” under the “Online Services” section on the homepage.

2. Choose your language:
** The SPDX website is available in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.

3. Choose your service:
The SPDX offers a variety of services, including:
** Application and status inquiry for certificates of competency (COC), watchkeeping rating certificates (WKR), and certificates of recognition (COR)
** Safe Manning Document or Certificate Approval
** Medical Practitioner Endorsement
** Special Training Endorsement (STE)
** Oral Examination Job Seeker (for Deck and Engine Officers)
** Crew Agreement activation for sign-on and sign-off
** Select the service you need from the options on the homepage.

4. Login or register:
** If you already have an SPDX account, enter your username and password to log in.
** If you are a new user, click on “Register” and create a new account. You will need to provide your personal information, contact details, and seafarer details.

5. Use the system:
Once you are logged in, you can use the SPDX system to:
** Apply for new certificates or documents
** Check the status of your applications
** View and download your existing certificates and documents
** Update your personal information
** Pay fees online
