Youth Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme

Aimed at encouraging pursuit of higher education by students from less developed areas through financing of their tuition fees paid directly to universities.

Eligibility Criteria

All students registered in Masters/Ph.D programs in an HEC approved public sector educational institution.

Geographical Spread:
Students domiciled in interior Sindh, Southern Punjab (Divisions of Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan), entire Balochistan, less developed areas of KP (Malakand, Kohistan and DI Khan areas), GB and FATA.

The districts of Layyah, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, and Attock will also be included.

Average Tuition Fees:
Rs.40,000 per year

Total Number:
50,000 students (year 2013-2014)

Important Stats:
HEC has reimbursed fee of almost 50,000 students of 78 universities (including sub-campuses) and 33 colleges in the first phase (2013-14).

Executing Agencies:
Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Trainings, which will be responsible for its implementation on the ground.

Important Stats

Update on FY 2016-17 :
1. First phase of online registration for newly enrolled students was launched during 15thJuly 2016 to 30th Nov 2016.
2. Second and last phase of online registration for newly enrolled students has been started from 1st January 2017 and last date is 15th April 2017.

Youth Laptop Programme :
Aimed at spreading the use of computers amongst the college/university level students to bring about a technology revolution and bridge the digital divide

Internet :
Dongles / internet connection would be included in the package

Eligibility Criteria :
Students registered in HEC approved public sector educational institutions. Full coverage for research oriented courses such as PhD, M.Phl, MS etc masters/doctoral students and under-graduate students will get laptop.Associate Engineer Diploma students in polytechnics will also be included.

Prime Minister’s Business Loans will focus on unemployed youth, especially educated, looking for establishing new enterprises.

All young men/women not more than 35 Years old with potential Entrepreneurial skills are elegible to apply.

    1. With the aim of encouraging pursuit of higher education, the scheme will provide scholarships for post graduate degrees (MA, MSc or higher level) to students, male and , belonging to remote and under-privileged areas of the country.

    1. How to Apply :
      1) List of students (detail mentioned below) will be collected from Public Sector academic institutions and there is no need to send any application or form to HEC.
      2) All candidate names would be forwarded through respective university to HEC.
      3) HEC will pay tuition fee (including other academic, incidental, or mandatory fees charged by educational institutions as one-off or on a per semester basis) to university directly.
      4) There is no last date to apply for this scheme as HEC will pay fee till the provision of funds by the Government of Pakistan.

  11. When fee reimbursement for poor scheme will be started? I am student of M.A and belong to D.G KHAN. My father was a poor man. I am good student. I got 503 marks out of 800 in b.a.
