Your social security number is a registration number under the Social Security Act (Cap. 318) through which you pay social security contributions.

The social security contributions paid will entitle you for the social security benefits provided under the Social Security Act (Cap. 318), subject to the entitlement conditions which exist for each type of benefit.
Applying for a Social Security number does not necessarily mean that you will be registered automatically. Your insurability position will need to be determined by the Department of Social Security.

Appeal a Social Security Decision Application Form:
You may appeal against the Social Security Director’s decision before the Social Security Umpire. Appeals may be lodged only on any question of law or a principle of importance emerging from the Director’s decision according to the Social Security Act. The appeal has to be lodged within 30 days of the day you have been informed of the decision

Appeal against a decision by the Department of Social Security :
Description :
You may appeal against a decision by the Department of Social Security before the Social Security Umpire. Appeals may be lodged only on any question of law or a principle of importance emerging from a decision by the Department of Social Security according to the Social Security Act (Cap. 318.).
The appeal has to be lodged within 30 days of the day you have been informed of the decision. Upon submission of your appeal online you will receive an email and an SMS acknowledgement. Upon vetting of details you will be provided with a sitting date in front of the umpire. Please note that sitting dates depend upon pending cases.
Else, instead of applying online, a letter can be sent to the Social Security Umpire as per address below within 30 days of the day you have been informed of the decision.
